Gday Fellas,

Here is my team after round 5 and currently ranked 212 with 28 Trades and 123K

I'm feeling a little gunshy and really don't want to trade SPS/SPP/WHE as I believe all can still make plenty of cash with a big score in the rotation. Am I being overly conservative considering there are great value picks like Hanners/Parker/Steven ready to go?

IF I get any rookie it will certainly be Balic for DPP.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Early thoughts are SPS-Balic leaving me 300K to upgrade any rookie (preferably a gun like Selwood/Bont/Hanners)...

Do it.

Selwood and Bont are still priced ok but not far from their max.
Hanners is too cheap to pass up.
In your position though you don't need to grab every fallen premo, us plebs need to lock in someone like Hanners at his price. Still its to early to worry about getting full premo asap. Do that during the byes and you'll give yourself a leg up on the others. For now cash the cash to make that happen.

So SPS to Balic is good for your overall cash gen, can't see SPS knocking out a big score against Sydney so he's just bumming a spot in your side.
If that 300k can be spent on a Hanners or a proven SP mid like Bont or Jelwood who are looking like must haves then do it.

Just keep in mind your trades for next week.
You would want to grab 2 rookies on the bubble next week to keep making that cash.

Thoughts on this? 1st trade locked. Spencer > Balic with Nank back to rucks.

Second is just a impulse decision. More putting it out there for people thoughts on Dyl. Are GWS mids just too risky to go because of how good their side is? One week a different one will go huge. Could be Scully or Kelly or Ward. Selwood just looks too good to pass up now. Their run is taaaasty with the Pies, Gold Coast and Essendon next three, with the next three after that at Simonds (albeit against the Dogs, Crows and Port) in there until a rd12 bye (ideal AF)

I know it sideways just want the thoughts on Shiel. May have got it wrong (has looked okay, just not ya top8-10 mid)

EDIT: God Jelwood loves Simonds. Avg'd 125 there last year. 1000 points in 8 games. Outrageous

Selwood not super-flash vs pies last couple of years (104, 51, 72) fwiw. Greenwood seems to do a good job on him (was not playing for the 104 iirc).
Hanners also has probably bottomed out and has a good run in next 5 rds or so, might be worth consideration if you don't have (and you reckon he's turned the corner) if you're sidewaysing. (Rd 11 bye, though)
Understand the logic re GWS mids stealing points, but haven't followed them closely enough myself.

So tempted to brink Nank in but I have far too many dead cows on my bench and that's scary.

Now thinking:
Pickett>Balic
Spencer>Burton

Means I hold SPP & SPS for a little longer.

Earlier today i went parifft and SPS to fisher n cripps.

Pickett dropped.
Barrett still not named wtf.
Newman back woooo.

Unsure on trade or trades.
Cripps an underrated pick atm. Working into some form/fitness now. Seems to step up when Murphy struggles. I like the pick

Option 1
JOM>Balic
Spp/Parfitt or Butler>Nank
Option 2
Hold JOM
Spp>Balic

I'd hold JOM and see how he goes this week. Would not make sense to me by trading him out the week he's back, after holding him for the two weeks he's out. I'm real keen on Balic and I'll be getting him this week.

Parfit> Balic
WHE> Macrae.

Not real keen on having to use my two trades before the first game but I can't get Macrae without the first trade and I really want him.

SPP will get the E and if he spuds it up then Balic will go on the field for Swallow.

One down one up this week. Double down next week.

Hey toxic. So little has been said about these two and think they have to be considered. Which would you go?
I would have had Heeney at the start of the season but I want to see more of him before considering. Glandular fever is not easy to fully recover from. It can sometimes cause fatigue for up to a year after you've had it. As an elite athlete any minor lingering fatigue could really affect his output.

What would you think about Breust at 380k?

I want Macrae aswell and could make it happen, but am trying to stick to not picking players at their peak. Will pick him up after his bye.
Gunstan at 460k?
If you can make the Macrae trade happen I would do it. Playing pretty much purely midfield. Can't see him falling too much from his current price. I'm trying to get him this week.

Re Gunston: Pretty much the same view as Breust. Gunston will score better but with the hawks inconsistencies he probably won't be a top 10 forward, therefore I'd look elsewhere.

I think the handy thing with Macrae is that he wont go up or down too much so you can pick him up at any stage.
