Shit, forgot about Hibberd. If he kills it may have to pass on a rookie next week too. Will make it tough to make money though considering some of the rookies I'm carrying. Tough decisions coming up.
What was Hibberds average when he played at Essendon? Different role in Melb?

Buddy hasn't averaged over 100 in a season since moving to Sydney. I understand their next stretch of games may make him an attractive proposition, but is he going to be a top 10 forward? I won't be touching him.

It made my defence this.
Laird doc Adams Lloyd otten McGrath Newman Stewart.
McGrath will play m8 this week. Newman d6
Still think I will be alright.
Yeah ok. You've loaded up in defence first.
Most people have 3-1-2 or 3-0-3 set-up in defence.

He will score 100+ the next 2-3 weeks and you will start to regret it

Nothing really grabs me to be honest. SPP to Fisher banks some cash. Might just sit on this on maybe double down next week. This should guarantee those who keep SPP a good run of scores.

Parfitt & Taranto another week to hopefully make a few $$

IIRC Hibberd had to accumulate a heap of the footy to score well at Essendon.

He wasn't much of an interceptor for them IIRC and didn't have the best DE always.

Was around the 90 mark maybe?

I've had to go Spencer --> Balic and Pickett --> Fisher. It really makes me cross to have Turner on my list for another week. I can't even loophole the spud with others of a potato-like consistency.

Think I've decided on WHE and Swallow to Jelwood and Balic. Leaves me with 25 trades left.

Not convinced by Hibberd so unless he goes big again I'll load up on some rookies next week.

Best average of 95.9 in 2013 which would just pass at D6 this year. The next best two are 91.4 (2014) and 82.1 (2015) which wouldn't cut it IMO.

Used to be good for low 90s average but he had to get a fair bit of the ball to get there. He used to spills so many intercept marks though. Good and underrated player imo. Playing a similar role at Melbourne but just looks fitter and leaner than ever and although it's just the one game he looked great. I'd say he was a bit underpriced for his proven output but could go 95+. Will be watching closely when he plays against his old mob this week.

i keep convincing myself that he's got a half decent score in him. i keep getting it wrong.

he's gone next week barring some sort of miracle. maybe not having to play with a useless campaigner like Thomas will help him.

I got rid of spp and Hampton for Murphy and Adams last week
Rookies scored more than my premos.
Be careful who you drop.....

That's like how i 'downgraded' zac jones for marchbank prior to rnd 3 because i wanted marchbanks cash generation.

Meanwhile jones has outscored mbank by a mile (i was expecting them to score similarly) and made more money than him too while he's at it.

Only stupid horseface dropping jones is going to save me from that being a shocking trade

In a real pickle.

Five rookies over the next two weeks who will be on the bubble.
Fisher, Balic, Hardwick.
Then Black and Parsons.

Question is, double downgrade this week, next week, or both weeks?

At this stage I have double downgraded this week, then will pick down/upgrade next week.
Thoughts?

I went through pretty much the same decision making process with the same players in consideration. I elected to double downgrade this week with Fisher and Balic. I don't have too much faith that Hardwick will stay in the side so i'm not bothering with him.

So right now I'm sitting with about 440K. With that much money in my bank I really doubt i'll be willing to double downgrade next week and I have my heart set on Pendles. So like you I think 1 downgrade 1 upgrade would be reasonable for next week. I'm leaning towards Parsons as I think his spot in the team is a lot more solid. If Black comes out and posts another 100 then we'll see.

The other thing to think about is: Which premiums are you going to pick up with the money from the downgrades? Even if you get the best rookies at the right time if you miss the low points of the premiums then that's an opportunity cost as well.

Laird Adams doc Lloyd otten Newman Stewart hibberd
Danger jelwood Murphy fyfe pendles treloar beams McGrath Pickett barrett fisher
Nank Sandi preuss
Dahl Steele whe butler parfitt balic hannan strndica
As of this weeks trades.
Roughy to balic
Eddy to fisher.
303k in the kitty.
Next week
Preuss to smartin.
Need to work on my forwards and rucks.
But I think if anything I've loaded up in mids...

My cash generation/future upgrade situation looks awful at the moment outside of SP Otten and SP Hampton

Houston scores 70 odd regularly yet he is going up too slowly. IMO he should be around 280-290k right now, not 260 odd.

Parfitt is a Dreamteamer, I like the kid but he won't make much more cash unless he pumps another 90 odd or two out. I want to hold him though as he can score on his day but will it come in SC?

WHE needs to bounce back across the next few weeks, I think at his current price/output he is a hold unlike in DT where I reckon he's maxed out. But dunno, if he keeps scoring 70s he won't go up too much more.

Hannan coming back helps, hopefully Melbourne's midfield starts kicking the ball to him. Surely he capitalises on their injury situation.

SPPs crap score is out of his BE this week so hopefully he has a bit left in him, but he may not too if he can't step up for Boak. This is his chance to do something.

Stewart seems better suited to SC than DT, so he will be a slow burn, but he could be 250-300k by his bye, long term hold I think.

Marchbank is probably close to being done but I won't have enough coin to turn him into SP Jelwood or something next week as Jelwood will probably shoot up. I guess some DPP action is on the cards next week. But it means a likely 3 downgrades to 1 upgrade for just any of a ruck/fwd/def premium which is a horrible ratio in regards to trying to have a complete side. You'd do it for a 120+ avg uber mid, but not a 90-105avg type on another line.

This week Eddy and Pickett are bloody useless with guys like Fisher, Hardwick and Balic on the bubble who will probably be worth more than them next week. I like Hardwicks scoring potential, just hope Clarkson keeps him in the team. So yeah, this week those guys get traded out for a measly 60-70k return.

Burning through some bloody trades though on the back of a poor starting squad plus injuries, cheers Goldy (no Preuss = rookie fail), cheers Gawn, cheers Swallow (Rnd 1 late withdrawal = Taranto came in instead and spudded up)
