Naughton still has some mooing to do. I'm looking at Bonner to trade out instead.
64 from Bonner yesterday .......Port playing North next week, may hold as last chance, depending on Mirra's performance today

Was Coffield at his price, the best trade this week .......a 61 would have me believing that Mirra can obtain the same scoring, but at $70K cheaper

Coffield was simply a good (albeit expensive) pickup for those who went there. Kid looks a 150 gamer, is scoring alright, and decent JS. Not much else we can go off and likely a 150K+ profit as a slow burner.

I'm also very hesitant though to pickup expensive rooks unless they're murdering it. A more experienced bloke like Mirra though at 70K cheaper is a lock with a 2 round avge of 60. The guy has been waiing for this chance and i have a feeling he'll beat Coffield to $320K despite the headstart.
That 70K is huge pre bye.

I liked Coffield for DPP with Finlayson. Can keep both as bench cover later in the year. (Finlayson could still prove to be a keeper).
Agree on Bonner, will be tempting to trade out next week, but he could be in for a good score against North.

Only point with Rookies though, who are Slow Burners .....if a good Rookies comes along, we're only at R5, then we're forced to trade a slow burner, well B4 they've mooed adequately

Saw a little of Finlayson yesterday. Ripping kick. He can land it on a 50 cent piece.

Is it really worth waiting a week to save 9k???
He scored 130 in round 2 and then scored 100 and 103
he could very well score 100 again next week and keep dropping
I want to see back to back 130s+ before I jump on
also he should have a good looking double downgrade this week, not missing out on that

I did a bad thing and jumped on Mirra early just in case I wanted Danger this week.

edit: meant danger, not dusty

Mmmmm.........next two games at Home against SYD & then GWS ..........then COLL at MCG

There were loads of good reasons to grab Coffield (i didnt). There's also that relative value of having a quality kid you know will have more chance of retaining his spot when others might get dropped. Might even play 15-18 games...has that look about him.
Massively handy come bye time as well...not the guy to sacrifice for a fast buck.
Out of the top 10 draftees only 2 have hit the ground running like serious standout kids, pick 6and8, Stephenson and Coffield.
Been a lot of disappointments. Top 5 have been serious headaches.

Need a second opinion for Goldstein to Grundy. I brought in Goldy after the Ryder injury for his 123, but since then he has scored 60 and 75 odd. I don't think there's any coming back to average more than 95 in the rest of the games with this formline, and Daw playing.

Grundy obviously looks the goods around the ground, is durable, whatever.

However, the trade leaves me with about $200, erasing my Dangerfield trade warchest.

I would not be paying top dollar for Grundy. That ship has sailed.

You are better off getting Stef or NN and save some coin for the Danger warchest if you really are keen to trade Goldy out.

I have less faith in Stef than I do in Goldy. I am unwilling to own NN due to injury history.

I'm paying top dollar for Grundy because I think he should average 100+ from here and be the #2 scoring ruck.

*I agree that paying top dollar for someone averaging 160 is usually poor normal practice, but I think the pickings are so slim in the ruck i'd rather get the best option possible and lock it in, rather than ****ing around with a 95 averaging player.

Each to their own. I'm getting Grundy this week even though he's topped $600k. I'm aware of the risk that comes with it. I would argue that the ship hasn't necessarily sailed if you think he's going to average 120 for the rest of the year. People were paying $749k for Danger before the season even started.

Need to double trade I think. This week has been a nightmare. Probs look to double downgrade to pick up Mirra & Guelfi.

Not enjoying Gov, Parker & Billings at the moment.
