Collins > Lockhart
Burgess > baker

Gives me 500k!
Next few weeks will be upgrades
Moore > Whitfield
BCrouch > Oliver (if he shows form)
Goldy > Grundy
Marshall if he falls in a heap > Walters
Any of those

I don't understand. You do 2 trades to reap a grand total of $199 + $10K, then add it to what I must assume is a bank of $300K u already have, then spend a likely 650K on upgrades from it.
You sure you arnt dreaming ?

Yep, will see what happens. It's all about that cash$$$ season is stuffed so just trying different way of things

I'm going to wait on Dusty. One 100+ game is not going to make me jump even at his current price.
If he can string together 3 x 100+ in a row however...
Sure.
That's the way we are all thinking, including me. No real hurry.

Murphys law though...he jags a 150 this week and its dusty fever next week. There goes everyone's "plan".

I guess the only reason I mention it is getting rid of Sheed. If someone said a month ago I could near straight swap Sheed for Martin I would have laughed.

No worries. IFFF you for some reason want Lockhart (when u already have Burgess) its not the worst thing to pocket the 70K then up[grade another rook THIS week. Get them on the books NOW maybe. Perhaps a double downgrade next week with guys like Hately and Hayes coming up. 70K isn't much to chase though and a trade needs to be worth more except during times of donuts/finals. I know you're just throwing things around, it just seemed a tad optimistic lol.

Thinking Dusty next week.
Shoot me now !
Dusty is going to do well. Tigers have a good run of games coming up as well, will win a fair bit. If I can afford him and I can sort out trades that work, I'll look at him next week

110+ coming up tonight

If people were honest with themselves on Lockhart, they'd admit they are doing it simply for the extra little bit of money to afford the upgrade they cannot quite reach. That is 100% of the time in this game. Every time we upgrade there is always one we'd prefer worth a little more.
They need tenuous justification for taking on an underperforming rook with low scoring potential, and many have found it.

Baby John Burgo is my loopy DPP in the making. He's already on the books, every chance of being dropped, and also an outside chance of jagging an 80 and making some half decent cash.

We haven't seen his scoring potential yet, he's only played 2 games where Melbourne played awfully. Melbourne fansd highly rate his JS, so that's good enough. It's very hard not to make decent money at 102k, like Gibbons all you need is one half decent score and they'll get to the 150k needed.

The main temptation of Lockhart for me is not his price, it's the fact that there's no other DEF downgrade options coming through anytime soon. Even if new players are named this week, thats another 2 weeks until you can cash out on a near topped out rookie like Collins if those players somehow have good JS.

On the flipside, you also are guaranteed that Collins will play through the byes where i'm not sure you can say the same for Lockhart.

If you're an overall player, the bye rounds make or break you, it's a real balancing act on which players you downgrade to..

Think you've answered your own question ...go with your gut

Kelly's price is likely to only have a small change this week

I started with Jack Darling cause of my gut feeling.

Very true, it really depends on the makeup of your individual team. I'm pretty set for R12/13 already, so i'm not too worried about it. My gut feeling says Collins goes backwards from here, or at most makes another 10-15k. Will have a lot of spud scores due to his role that isn't very SC friendly. I'd rather bank the cash and have Lockheart on the bench so I can upgrade a shithouse FWD rookie whose scores are killing me every week.

I'm thinking of going Clarke - Lockhart & Goldy - Baker (via Bines DPP).

Would leave with with team below and ~600k in the kitty.

Starting with Goldy instead of Grundy was a gamble that hasn't really paid off, and ROB looks decent enough to cover for a few weeks until he can be upgraded to Grundy.

The money in the kitty would basically allow me to double upgrade two of my def rookies to Lloyd/ Whitfield/ Hurn next week.

Am I crazy?

I’m holding Burgo because:
a) hasn’t made enough money yet and I’m loath to only make $70k with Lockhart when I’ve already done enough corrective trades
b) DPP with Keira is still useful
c) hoping a Corbett in means Burgo goes back, which is more his natural position.

Fair enough. But I don't plan for making just 50K on a rook. One zombie rook is enough on the books at this time of year. I'll probably have 4 or 5 by mid season and don't need another that isn't priced > 250K+.
I watched Lockhart. Saw nothing. I can see why SOME might but I don't subscribe...they've gone looking for a reason to buy him. I'd rather put Rotham in on the chance he'll get a game again soon coz he'd make good cash straight away. DPP is overrated when u already have Burgess. Collins has JS.

edit: just realised u meant 150K profit not price. Just ignore what I wrote.

Looking at your team and the number of rookies still on-field, Parker needs to be an upgrade trade. I would look to downgrade elsewhere this week. Something like....Clark > Lockhart & Butters > Ross would leave you 320k+ to do Parker > Kelly next week thus removing your weakest on-field link.
Don't like lockhart at to be honest, happy keeping Clark for another week if he gets dropped then I'll just use him as a loophole for now.
Not sure lockhart averages over 50, kicked multiple goals and only scores 40 odd

Same as me, particularly (c)
Suspect he still has a role to play other than as a whipping boy experiment.

Lockdick has won me over solely for the fact he's DPP.

Spud average of 44 doesn't do anything to my chol, but hopefully he can at least increase that to 60.

Plus it gives me a spud to cheer on tonight, which is always fun.

Will be absolutely spewing if Rotham is named tomorrow afternoon though. That would have change my whole team.

I like Lockhart more as a potential future swinging M11/D8 loophole doughnut than as a traditional cash cow. What he scores or even if he plays again doesn't bother me.

Once injuries and players getting tired sets in you may be worrying about what he scores if you have to field him. You don't want to be carrying to many spuds in your team
