Looking at trading out Dempsey and fall just short of Hodge and Newman. :(

Is it worth just settling for Bock, or perhaps downgrading Walker to Warren so I can afford Hodge? Would still have to wait untill next week to get Hodge, as I have made a trade already this week.

Cheers.

OUT: Brent Harvey, Paul Hasleby
IN: Nick Riewoldt, Hamish Hartlett

Hasleby has peaked IMO. I traded him down to capitalise in Hartlett's value change and pump the spare change into an upgrade next week.

Good luck all.

What about trading Dangerfield out for a much cheaper player, considering I'll probably never need him anyway, and upgrading McLeod to a Chris Newman or Michael Johnson type?

Houlihan is not guaranteed to be a keeper though. Hence a sideways trade. You try to trade up to a premium wherever possible.

The Tippett --> Kruezer trade was a terrible call IMO he scored 123 last week!

But you can not have all premiums. You need blokes like Houlihan to fill the gaps IMO. Yes he may be burning one trade but if Houlihan keeps scoring 20-30 more than Mcleod then surely it is worth it in the long run.

I dont think the Tippet-Kreuzer debate is that clear cut, I agree it is probably not the right time to trade Tippet given he had such a good game last week but Kreuzer is in very very good form as well and is averaging more than Tippet and with Jacobs out will do most of the ruck work for Carlton. I certainly dont think it was a Terrible call.

Thats the best thing about this game, everyone has different opinions. Lets wait and see.

did you really do these? you wait this long on cousins then trade him the week b4 he comes back?

I don't think it's a bad trade. Luke Power is an absolute gun & you'd be worried that Cousins would get injured again. I'm tempted to get Power myself.

No doubting Power is a gun but i'm with Donkey those trades were terrible. Waiting this long on Cousins you had to see it out, and Power has a likely plummet in the next fortnight due to the 40odd he scored last week.

Skippy to Riewoldt is a shocker IMO, people who started with Riewoldt have been trying to get rid of him all year yet this guy goes out and brings him in for a perfect cow to premium upgrade later in the season despite him being 1-2 weeks away!

I ended up doing my Hasleby, Malceski Out Moss, McPhee in.

Had decided Hase had done enough he was a cow for me and likely to drop in price sooner rather than later. Went with moss over a 2 gamer like Hartlett/Barham as I expect him to rise enough in price to catch someone like a Luke Power in a slump mid season for a 1 trade where as i don't see the others getting much over 300K if they hit it which would mean a 2 trade upgrade.

Despite having enough cash to get Gilbee this week I decided on McPhee. I have a feeling he is going to be back at his fantasy best playing down back with Ryder up the ground and will be getting those easy marks from opposition kicks he loves so much I can see him averaging over 100 which makes him a keeper and at 417K was to good o pass up. Along with that I should have enough cash available to upgrade Hill to Gilbee with 1 trade next week or the one following with Gilbee likely to drop down to 420-430K this week and Hill to be up around 260K

I like option 2 better but it's hard to know who to pick as a rookie defender at the moment. I'm still considering picking up Greenwood, even though he's only played one game, since he's a bit older, bigger and North Melbourne have a huge injury list. With that trade you could leave your backline alone for most of the season.

Trading in Hurley is risky since we still don't know when he'll be back for sure. I also don't rate Goodwin as a premium forward option this year - he's getting old and not playing in the midfield like he used to. He may pull out some big scores occasionally (like last week) but I get the feeling his average will be lower than previous years. As a Crows supporter though I'd be happy to see him continue his form from last week... :D

What are other people's thoughts on trading in rookie defenders this week? Greenwood seems like the only option playing. Broughton and Hurley seem like better options if they weren't injured...am I right in thinking that bringing in an injured rookie in the hope they return soon is just silly?

FWIW I went with Goodwin & Hurley... already have Boughtan, will come back sooner or later... hopefully Hurley is back for round 7, so no, I don't think trading in the likes of an injured Hurley is silly.... but you should also consider the source :p

I nearly had a crack at you, as I thought you meant Nick! Then it sunk it lol. Yeah, I had Jack Riewoldt at the start and traded him last week when he plays his best game (only got 87 or something). Definitely a sideways or even downgrade trade that one. Probably could of got a rookie in or a better player then Jack.

Welcomes John Meesen to his team!!!! with heaps of spare cash

hille to Meesen (avg 60+) - which what hille was averaging
Didak to ROO

:)

I nearly got riewoldt 2 weeks ago, but said no, skippy will be back, earn some cash tehn upgrade. then this last week same thing.

Skippy better be good. I know he will be.. :D Butyeah.

My trades ended up being

Tuck > Hartlett - When i see his stats I see a fluke 125 and then two very consistant 60's. But I always worry that he will have a break out against the blues. But with hawk's guys coming back and that fact that Hartlett will rise in price. Hartlett came in.

Malceski who just made the I/C > Waite. Waite has had two bad (being sub100 hehe matches) and 3 great well over 100 match 116 x2 and another match. So I'm looking foward to what he can bring.

AND NOT

Skippy > Riewoldt. Speaking of skippy, I also nearly did > warren or macaffer.

Next week looking for maybe a Rich >???? if Rich gets a bad score (because that would be a 56 or someting + bad score + RD7 score. Hence I'd be waiting a bit before more price rise.) But hopefully a 100. Would be great.

Current problems.
Rookie starting in backs - Rance/Cheney/Suban.
Rookie starting fwds - Walker .. once skippy's back then I will have finished to an ok state with my fwds. Krak, higgins and skippy can prosper. They can be trade fodder BUT not until after I've dealt with other stuff.
Hurn/Gilbert (whos would be a downgrade to Gilbee in cash and av !!)/Houlihan etc.. in the back line all good mid cashies.
Hartlett/Beams in Mid's.

Its done!

Hodge + Kornes = 177.8 ave
or
Gablett + Petrenko = 212.8 ave

previous:
Kornes + Petrenko = 141.2 ave

trade worth + 71.6 ave

So far Kornes -> Ablett trade worth -98

Kornes = 114
Ablett = 91
Captain was Davis before trading in Ablett

This game knows how to mess with you!

Tippet 59

Kreuzer 111

I know it is one week but i really think Kreuzer is the btter option. 2 weeks in a row he has scored over 100.
