Expect minimal changes after a win over the brave Doggies, in saying that we struggled in the midfield once again. Need Blakely back ASAP

IN: Blakely, North
OUT: Conca, Cerra

a bit different I know, prepared to cop it.

Given Blakely was tagged and managed 20 touches still he has to come in.

Our midfield was given a bath for the most part, we need Blakely's size around the contest but hard to see who to drop if I'm being honest.

You would have thought Nyhuis would be an easy out with Conca to play more back but he was sensational.

Colyer could be the unlucky one but his speed could be missed

Don't think they were bad enough to be dropped. Think everyone had a fairly solid game today. It was good to watch.
they weren't but the midfield is a real concern Atm, need Cerra on ball but Ross wont do it so we need more midfielders in the team imo.

Nyhuis has cemented his spot ahead of Duman imo, was really strong tonight.

Lol at Cerra out. I don't know what his detractors want from him tbh. Averaging 16 disposals off half back with generally good disposal is alright in my book. My criticism of Brayshaw is his kicking - it has deteriorated to the point he actively avoids it. An unacceptable liability/mindset that must be stamped out. Do it in the magoos and come back better.

Out: Brayshaw

In: Blakely

I'm a big proponent of Blakely and cannae wait for him to come back in but who do you drop? I like Conca's leadership, Cerra is fairly solid but needs to work on his decision making, and Colyer is quick. Good improvement from him over the last couple of matches. The only person I'd be willing to drop would be a tall. Think we have too many.

Agree on both parts. However, I think Lobb as ruck isn't helping this situation much. Would prefer him up forward and Darcy back in. Which means one of Hogan, McCarthy or Tabs would need to make way for Darcy and perhaps Tucker for Blakely.

Tough ask next week but we need Blakely in. Adelaide (on paper at least) have a really strong midfield. The Crouch brothers are playing really well this season.

No real needed changes. I wanna give Thor the benefit of the doubt. He's vital when he's on but tonight just wasn't his night.

Think this game will be the real decider if we're finals bound or not. Early days but a win on the road against a side in the middle of the pack is something we should realistically do if we're a chance.

No chance Lobb deserves to be picked as a forward over any of those blokes based on what I have seen this season.

Blakely in for someone, whoever it is will be unlucky. We didn't have any clear passengers tonight. Everyone did something towards the win.

Don't think he's had much game time up there to be fair to him. He's done a sterling job in the ruck but he's a second ruckman in reality. Bit of time up forwards at the cost of one of those boys for a couple of weeks is something I could live with. Most likely Tabs in my head and not because he's been playing badly at all, just needs to work on his instincts and kicking a bit.

Lobb can barely take a mark getting defended by a ruckman. He will get schooled by actual defenders. If he doesn't take marks he is useless in the forward line.

He is doing a decent job as the ruck, I'd leave him there for now.

Perhaps that's a confidence issue with being played out of prefered position?

I suppose it could be, but you get plenty of looks at it around the ground as a ruck and he can't stick them. FTR, I wasn't keen on getting Lobb simply because I didn't think he was a better forward than Tabs or Cox, and still don't.

If you want a player to build confidence you send them back to the 2's, especially if the other option is a bloke playing well.

McCarthy must still be feeling the effects of the flu. He was very quiet.

Harsh but I'd drop him and add Blakely. More run and carry will add to the team.

Freo can beat the Crows and stay top 4

This was exactly what I was thinking.

If there had to be a change then Cam McCarthy or Trav Colyer would be the two I’d be looking at. I doubt Trav Will get dropped and that lunging late tackle was critical.

My preference is no changes and Blakely can have another game in the WAFL.

Fair point. It was definitely a fair observation after his breakout year a few years back. Did seem lost at GWS at times.

He definitely seems like a confidence guy to me though, especially considering the story about how he was bullied as a youth. Reckon getting dropped after holding the ruck could effect him quite negatively.
