It's hard without seeing your side .....it varies from side to side, depending on where your team is in transition .....there's no general formulae, it will vary with each Coach
Here is my situation... would you look at Hayes over Ross, I understand my side is a bit thin but feel like it is worth taking the rookies while they are there as we have no idea when they will dry up...So many flavoured 's at the moment that I need to get rid of. 24 trades and 613k in the bank:

Constable, Newman & Scrimshaw all out hurts a lot, but am thinking with Whitfield's monsterous BE for the next fortnight after return, he might actually be a smart candidate for a good old Judd_Magic Roughy treatment. As much as it hurts my soul, I can flip him straight into Fyfe and then get him back once his BE regulates itself and save some $$$ for future upgrades.
Also after some additional research, I can understand the interest still being there for Ross @ 190k, he is definitely a safer choice than Hayes or Young in regards to JS and probably safer than the group on the bubble next week. I do worry about Cotchin coming back however but his centre bounce attendance rate is encouraging as are his possession numbers.
Thinking of going:
Whitfield > Fyfe via Duursma
Newman > Ross via Moore & Drew
Side then looks like:

Leaves the side a little thin but still gives me 22 trades & $918k to upgrade with while we wait for viable rookies.
Thoughts? opinions? letters of recommendation to be mentally assessed... all welcome and appreciated have at it my friends.
