Think I've settled on this.

If Rowe is named: Dunkley -> Robertson, Brockman -> Walsh/Bont/Petracca.

If Rowe isn't named: Dunkley -> Robertson, Rowe -> Walsh/Bont/Petracca.

Anybody care to make the case for one of those three SP's? The way I've listed them is my current order of preference, but it's changing constantly.

EDIT: There was a similar question above, I'll just look at the responses to that as they come through.
My order from here on in
Trac 1
Walsh 2
Bont 3

Trac looks like the best player in the comp and will have a run at the brownlow. He’ll dominate the crap teams with 150+ and his floor is so high his games against good teams will be 110+. See him going 120+ from here. I posted a few weeks ago he was leading the Comp in clangers and seems to have cleaned that up which was the only issue with his average scoring to start the year!

Walsh I called after the Thursday night of round 1 a Monty to dominate with the new rules and pace of the game. His inside out nature suits the scoring this year and he is the best mid at Carlton. Don’t think a tag will do too much damage even though we haven’t really seen him cop one yet like brayshaw who flounded twice. Think he stays around 115 for the season

Bont I have at 3 is the only one I have in my team. I think he’s safe to go 108-113. Prone to a tag and without dunkleys grunt I think he may actually score a little less even with more of the pie available. I see the other guys going 115-125 from here so would personally pick trac. I’m actually getting Clarry this week cause I melted all of last year not having him and can’t do the same this year

Ive done one trade so far.
Dunkley to sidey is locked in.
with the second trade i have 3 options.
im leaning towards
1- Gulden to oliver. This leaves me 150k for next week which pretty much guarantees an upgrade.
2- Berry to oliver is possible leaving 50k
3- Brockman to oliver. removing a rookie who i dont expect to play over the next month. Owners may not get a chance to move him on for a long time.
Where are all you Kent’s getting so much coin from? Lol this is madness

last weeks trades
clark to macrae jnr
campbell to mcreery.
i had 300k before i started this week.
I was always going to upgrade. Dunkley to sidey gives me the crazy options.
Its added a layer of confusion.

I’m getting BBB in unsighted. fu** it.

Lol I’m doing that if named and someone else dropped.

I had him last season, he owes me.

Walsh and Bont both have Rd13 bye, Petracca Rd14.......might need to add that to the equation, depending on your team's makeup.

The prospect of getting Ben Brown for Jimmy Rowe and a little pocket change is very enticing.

Having said that, I'll probably have the customary 2 weeks look at BBB when selected, notwithstanding if it's this week in Hobart v North, he might well start his Melbourne career with a bang. I hope he does well, he's a good footballer who should thrive in a well-functioning team.

Alright puppies and kentlemen, give me your thoughts:

Plenty of cash in the pusswah!

Option A - Midfield Grab - $134k remaining
View attachment 1114101
  • get the #2 and #3 pure midfielders into my side
  • (just) leaves enough money for Chapman > May the next week
  • must be at the expense of Gulden

Option B - Midfield Value - $242k remaining
View attachment 1114103
  • get the value midfielders into my side (Walsh / Guthrie?)
  • leaves money for both May and BBB over the next few weeks without downgrades
  • is still at the expense of Gulden

Option C - Dead Rookie Bounce - $146k remaining
View attachment 1114109
  • get the value midfielders into my side (Walsh / Guthrie?)
  • leaves enough money for Chapman > May the next week
  • gets rid of dud rookies from my bench (Berry, Rowe - whichever isnt named?)
  • lets Gulden potentially moo a bit more

With May in next week, i'll look to sure up my forward line a bit more, firstly with BBB as a cheap get and also Marshall

Appreciate your ridicule - cheers!
I'd go C. With how quickly players are dropping this year, i'd keep someone who is still playing even if they are at risk of not hitting their BE.

Got Zorko as one of my Trade Ins.

Trying to decide between Fyfe and Petracca. What are everyone's thoughts?

Honestly having no cash in the bank is ****ing killing me so hard. I have the cash generation but no cash in the bank. I need to trade Dunkley to number 7 from Norf. Leaves me with 90k left. Cant do a ****ing thing.

Really dawning on me now how much not starting Norfs number 7 has killed my side. I gotta trade him in this week through Dunkley. Now if I had started him, I could've downgraded Dunkley to Brayshaw, banked the 100 odd thousand and then upgraded Gulden to a premo. But now I cant do anything, just gonna take the hit this week to my ranking and my cash league.

Gulden to Heppell?

Why do you have to trade him in, though?
It's jumping into a position after a hundreds of thousands and a heap of points have already flowed under the bridge.
If I didn't have him now, I'd be keener on avoiding him and hoping to profit if a hiccup comes along.

23 trades, 1k in the bank. Ranked 808

Without having looked too much into my byes (will after footy training tonight)

I am currently thinking of:
Dunkley to Petracca (who I think will go 120 from here and is undervalued). Although this may leave my forward line short with Dusty out this week too.

Depending on selections, I am tempted to flick Berry to Dev Rob who should have a good run in the Lions side here with Neale and JBerry injured/playing with niggles.

Would then look at upgrading Gulden next week.

Any other ideas?

Yeah but every campaigner has him. It is killing me every week. I have won three of my cash leage games by under 100 points purely because I didn't have number 7 from Norf. Against Geelong I had like 15 points and Tom Stewart Vs number 7 from Norf and I won by 8 points. If I had have started him I would be in the top 5k.
