Depending on who is missing for them, I get the feeling that this game isn’t going to be the walkover that it seems people here think it might be. As much as a big win would be great.

They’re going to throw caution to the wind and attack, they gave decent mids and the fact we have a history of playing average tall forwards into form, Wright and whoever else they have down there concerns me if we’re a bit off.

2MP is already in rare form. Which is a good omen.

I am always worried when we play against teams that have deep midfields (like Essendon does) as these teams are strong in the very area we are weak in.

In saying that though our backline is our main strength and apart from 2MP they really don't have much up forward to worry about (especially now Stringer is out) so if we can at least break even in the midfield we should win comfortably.

But if our midfield unit has one of their "off" days (which lets face it is always a possibility) and Paris, Merrett, McGrath, etc get of the leash this could be a lot closer than many people think.

Never feel confident playing at that s##t stadium but liked listening to punky the other day. Mitch gives the players 24 hours to be sad after a loss or happy after a win then we move on and it’s complete focus towards the following week. Don’t think Mitch or the players have being favourite on their minds!

I dont think we are at a stage or a good enough consistent side to be going into games being super confident .

Form is pretty good but still patchy and I expect the same tonight.
Also cant see them having all these outs either .

Reckon itll be pretty tight , just got to keep them down and sap the confidence further.

At this point in our journey, I rarely get totally disappointed after a loss.
I hated the Saints loss. We aren't as bad as that game suggested.

But to lose tonight would be worse than that, regardless of the margin.
We are a better team than Essendon.
We are a better club than Essendon.

A good team beats the teams it's better than.

Let's give them a paper cut and pour lemon juice on it. If I found this club in a hospital on life support, I'd unplug it to charge my mobile.

There are few certainties in life, but among them:-
Love of Hawthorn
Taxes
Death
Deep dislike of Essendon

Should be a good contest. A must win game. Hawks by 4 goals.

Got a mate having a weekend in Melbourne and he just ran into Stringer (got a photo) who reckons up to 6 late outs.

Nfi if true or not but putting it out here.

Probably going to jinx us but I think we are going to belt them tonight. I wish Lewis was playing but I just think they are no good and didn’t even know why everyone was so sold on them last year.
