34 points yes with a lot of misses.
More the fact that they played uncontested footy and chipped their way through our defence and stifled our corridor surge running. Where like I said, we go back to long bombing down the line.
Lucky our defence is still elite.
We kicked 8.16 mate. We were just as wasteful if not worse

We weren’t great but a lot of our issues were our own doing.

It'll be interesting to see if the selection committee will be bold enough to drop Membrey given King and Caminiti will be available and Sharman played well enough to stay in the team. His inside 50 kick where despite there being 3 open saints players to choose from, he found the ONE north player with precision, was coach killing material.
Membrey is a total liability right now.
Champion player but is absolutely terrible out there currently. Not best 22 and I hope Caminiti comes right in whilst Membrey gets some form back in the VFL.

Decision making is slow and poor.
His weapons were marking and goal kicking accuracy, both are way off.

He needs a spell

On one hand, we had three open players in the forward 50 and he kicked it to the only Carlton player.

On the other hand, he did it very quickly which was a nice change.
Even more impressive that he managed to pick out a Carlton player when they played Friday night

I doubt even our best will be good enough next week. Adelaide are a genuinely good team especially at home. We'll have to lift considerably on today's effort to even be competitive. Be an interesting forward line setup. King Caminiti Sharman Billings would give us a totally different look. Selection will be interesting. Membrey is at risk of losing his place. Hasn't fired since returning.

Fingers crossed for Marshall. The one player we simply can't replace.
They have 4 gun forwards and our mids have been average at best, we will need to lift or we we will get flogged

8 goals against a historically bad team?

Nah, sorry that was utter rubbish. That was comfortably the worst skilled game I have seen this year.

We are going to get a very serious reality check next week unfortunately.
Not everyday you get to comprehensively win a debate in a few lines!

Massive time travelling torp!

To the posters on here shitting on everyone for being frustrated, go and watch the Lyon press conference.

He was as frustrated as the the rest of us.

Take the 4 points but we know we need to be a lot better than that.

I haven't seen too much shitting on the frustration levels. You'd be insane to not find that frustrating but we lost a lot of those weird low energy slogs in the last few years. I'm taking that and running over our last few years of tripping over our own feet.

Selection is going to be very interesting

Doesn't sound like they have decided whether King actually comes straight back into the seniors, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't. Even a rusty King is better than any key forward we have.

Caminiti too. We really lack that get out of jail big man up forward. Do we play one or two?

Sharman's game was a lot better than anything Membrey has produced so far.

The main problem with next week is our mids are dreadful at present, whereas the Crows mids are playing well .

Second problem is our quick ball movement has gone. Stop and prop is back. :(

Third problem is our skills are also dreadful.

We need a major form reversal
Our midfield is a worry- Ok but just workmanlike and won't get us far in the finals, presuming we make it. Disappointed with the bombing kicks out of the backline- sort of unlike our play earlier in the season. Sharman is a bit of a cream on top player who needs to be in the side, but I'm afraid Membrey just looks like a duck out of water. Very happy with the games of Byrnes, Wilke, Higgo, Butler, Owens and Hill.

I hate that we’re ragging out in Members but I think a tough call might need to be made. He probably has enough runs on board to see out a couple more games but.

I said last week we need to look at moving past Membrey, he is a relic of the bad old Richo and Ratten days, he is taking us nowhere.

We need to go with our younger, faster, more confident and hungry forward brigade of Owens, King, Caminiti and Sharman, they will take us forward.

You might be right, but your reasoning is wrong.
Associating him with Richo and Ratten is just just emotional crap. He's a footy player in his own right.

Sharman is so nice to watch. Also his handballs were really quite good. He just moves across the ground well and has sticky hands.
He has learnt to move a bit. I wish he hadve kicked the 3 goals instead of 1.2
if Gresham is injured who do we replace?

Something that I love that our team has is these wing/mid type players that can mark the ball. A bloke like Wood being aerially good is a luxury.

But, we have Wood, Pou, Owens, Sharman. 3 of those very young and raw, thats the future mould for the position for a Ross Lyon team. Being able to cover both flanks and wings with these guys makes it a very difficult task for opposition to move the ball out (or makes it easier to get out if we have the ball), and then you have Wilkie, Battle, Howard on the longer kicks down the line.

If they all start clunking marks, teams will start to hit the panic button, will have to be very precise under the forward pressure of our smalls to move the ball effectively through a chain from d50.

Additionally, having them marking in chain out of our own d50 is even more beneficial as we can afford to then keep King deep instead of using him up the ground as we have when we got desperate and stuck in defense.

Long story short - I'm excited, I'm drinking and loving the direction of the club (yes even after a shit game like that) Looking forward to the development over 3 years, not too phased about this year in all honesty, ke sera sera and all that jazz, sit back and enjoy the ride

When Steele went out last year our lack of midfield depth unravelled our season and by the time Gresham went down we became an ordinary midfield. Steele still looks like he going at about 75% and Gresh is predominantly playing forward and probably injured.

Next year we really need to find a depth mid even if it's to play mainly VFL. I'd look at a player like Mathieson or Deven Robertson who can't get games. With Ashcroft, Dunkley and Fletcher into the list it won't be easy for those two to get games any time soon.

We're third on the ladder almost a third of the season in with another game against North and two against Hawthorn in the chamber.
King to come back, mids to find form.
Today was an ordinary match but I've never seen a win I didn't like.

Its a tight season, i don't care if we're second , third, forth of fith.
4 points behind the leader, we need to keep winning.
