Round 8 trades

I considered him but there are too many negatives. Just can't stay on the ground and when he does he's not a great scorer. When he last played a full season he managed a few scores around 100. They were almost all when Hawthorn had a 10+goal win and he nearly always followed them up with a couple of shockers.
Yeah that's exactly what I feared. Here's another trade scenario of mine, one which will probably change again in the next hour but oh well. Not sure what to do with L Mcdonald (leaning towards premium upgrade as their is slim pickings for cash cows in the backline)

Maybe I should just downgrade Georgiou to Gardiner and get the extra cash in that way?
Much prefer that option. Georgiou is going nowhere fast.

Next week could then downgrade Kelly > Acres so would then have the cash to upgrade Polec > Pendles.

Then can keep Crouch till round 11 and upgrade him to Selwood. :thumbsu: :rainbow:
Not convinced on dumping Polec.

Mitchell out Kade Simpson in.

Only trade this week and gives me 17 players on the field with hopefully 1 of Langdon , Georgiou or Frawley to play to give me the 18 i need. Every opponent i am playing in leagues will struggle to get 15-16 playing even with trades so all good.

Mitchell > Simpson for me too. :thumbsu:

Great to have him in my team at last. ;)

Why Simpson Juddy? Don't be a sheep like the others... So many better/different options. Burgoyne is a far better pick, especially with Mitchell out. Pick a player from a team dominating, not one who can barely tie their boot laces. The guy generally murders the ball and it affects his score so much.

Affects his score????

Simpson has been averaging 100+ in SC for the last 3 years at least and is never injured.

He is a player that carries no risk with a proven scoring history coupled with durability.

Hodge will be my next defender upgrade. See you all in the vent thread in a month.

Wait for Hodge to be managed by Clarko come SC finals time and rested for real AFL finals.

This is the only reason i did not touch him.

Well said Carlton supporter.. However the fact is Carlton are terrible this year compared to previous. Burgoyne is having a ripping year and when you play for a team that consistently wins by 40+ you tend to do well too. He will never be part of a team that gets slaughtered by 60+ and the whole team scores sub 100.

Mitchell > Andrew Walker

Considering Simpson or Hibberd, but Walker has more potential imo. I hope it's the right call

I am talking sense not bias and who cares who i support??

We have been terrible for a while and what does this have to do with anything?? Simmo still scores well regardless and does this argument make you not get proven players like Cotchin , Deledio , Martin , Rockliffe , Libba , Griffen , Callum Ward , Riewoldt etc etc and all these teams have the same or close to win record as us.

Burgoyne is sharing points with a heap of guns in that Hawks team and not everyone can score 100+ every week as the points are only allocated so much per team.

Simpsons consistent and has been for the last few years plus I don't have any Carlton players in my team yet and would like at least one. LOL!

The last sentence about points per team is 100% wrong bud

Simply its 3300 a game

Yeah i know that but they all get shared around hence pre scaling.

Not everyone fits in points wise and blokes get points taken off etc.

Not often a whole team has 1 or less players score 100pts on any given week and it is a rarity not the norm.

Anyway feel free to take who you want!!! :D

He's actually never averaged more than 100 in a season. High nineties but never cracked the ton, don't think he will this year either

Nah deadset this is killing me. Which backman do I get out of Hodge Burgoyne Walker Hanley or Hibberd?

how can you even consider Hanley when a. he has missed 2 of the last 3 matches due to injury and b. it's a hamstring

flip a coin between Walker and Hibberd imo

Because players generally return from injury, they don't just never play again... He was one of the top performing defenders before he got injured, so it sounds like you're one of his previous owners that he wonderfully burnt. I just listed him as an option and yes, he was never really in my considerations but I just wanted to see what people thought.

Ergh.

Not sure if you've watched any Carlton games this year. Simpson can play 3 shit quarters and still score a ton. His ceiling isn't sensational but if you're looking for consistency it's between him and Enright.

Don't pinhole a a player because their side is doing shit/playing well. Take each player on their merits.

EDIT: I know what I'm getting from Simpson:
2009 94.0
2010 99.8
2011 94.5
2012 93.7
2013 95.1
2014 98.7

I'm still not sure what trades to do.

I am going to trade out Mitchell for Simpson but am $10,000 short so need to do a second trade to generate some cash to get Simpson in.

Also part of me is saying to keep Kelly and Crouch to use as platforms to get Selwood in during round 11.

Other part of me is saying downgrade them both to Hartang or J.Lloyd and Acres so I can get more scoring on the ground this week as I already have Ablett, Beams and Swan out of my mids so Crouch makes it 4. Would also make some quick cash to use on upgrading Polec to Pendles next week but then wouldn't have anyone in my midfield to use to upgrade to Selwood.

I want to upgrade Polec to Pendles next week and then upgrade either of Kelly or Crouch to Selwood in round 11.

Maybe I should downgrade Kelly to Acres next week?

WTF do I do? LOL!

Not burnt, burning is the word, currently have that regret sitting on my bench.
Apologies for being stern, but as a fellow SCer I'm sure you can understand the frustration of somebody looking to possibly bring in a player you desperately need to get rid of and regret getting.

SC gods trolling me :(

ps: cute edit :D

still got my eye on Hanley. like you say, he scores well
but a breakeven of 185 gives you a week or 2 to asses his form before bringing him in at about 40-50k less than he is now

Between rounds 2 and 14 last year hawthorn won 12 in a row. 1/2 of which they won by over 40 points. Burgoyne averaged 83.41. He's having a good year, but again, don't generalise.
