Nice avatar :thumbsu:
Gonna be unreal to see how he backs up against Duncan now, especially if they just let him take mid range shots like regular season. Great match up.

Mitchell being out (and price drop of 60k) has really stuffed up my trading plans over the next 3 rounds... anyone else feel the same??

Its a huge blow on 2 fronts - 1) he was a massive thorn in the side for teams who don't have him and he was so expensive it was near impossible to get him in 2) his price drop of 60k means I now have to SPEND money to get someone of equal output instead of just sideways trading him to another gun like Bartel or Hibberd.

He normally plays very well against the Spurs. Long may it continue :thumbsu:

My trades for this week

Mitchell > Burgoyne
LMac > Hibberd
Lloyd > Ambrose (provided he is named)

Leaves me with $180k for next week

No doubt this will change after teams are announced

I dont get the trade out Sam LLoyd for a RD10 bye player? LLoyd will continue to make cash (he drops his 23 game shortly) and will eventually make it to about 350K (in about 5 weeks I reckon) -
he's nowhere near cooked
and that extra trade is gold

+1..

What is the better option?
1) Get in Burgoyne this week and Swallow next week
2) Hibberd this week and Hanley next week

Swallow and Hibberd if you can wangle it
I could do that, but it would mean getting someone like Cotchin instead of Selwood who I'm looking at bringing in after his bye as he is around 550k which is dirt cheap. I would have Hibberd>Swallow>Burgoyne>Hanley at this stage. That being said, prices can change so much in one week, i'll see what happens, but at this stage, would you say option 2 is better?

Thinking of Mitchell > Hibberd
Mcdonald > Cutler
Leaves me with 838k in the bank but stuck on what to do with primarily impey/georgiou. Help! Upgrade/downgrade with my last trade?

Your not gonna make/lose much cash with either of them. Wait until there is a clear cash making option on the bubble (which there is none of at the moment) and then trade. No point in effectively doing a sideways trade for a rookie who'll only make you 100k

I'm to trigger happy for this game. I desperately want to move impey on though but with a 4 'premium' fwds(danger, zorko, martin, roughy) I'm not sure if it's the right time to get a 5th or regenerate the cash.

Downgrade elsewhere, upgrade Impey

It was silly that people were considering turfing Polec last week. Boggles the mind people are talking about it again this week.

I'm talking about trading him out next week. :thumbsu:

All I'm concerned about is getting the best of the best in straight away .ie. Pendles and Selwood and completing my team as soon as possible.

I'm not going to get all sentimental and wait another 4 weeks of Polec going up a little more and then get Pendles in.

By then Pendles will probably have gone 150, 175, 160, 180.

Scored 2095 last round, would have been higher if Mitchell didn't go down with injury and i had have fixed a few other errors (a few other midfield and forward players didn't play and those on the "bench" did and scored between 61 - 128. Looking at that i could have had 2,300 or so).

Traded Mitchell for Burgoyne and 28 trades remaining :thumbsu:

Even to trade in the 2nd best player pendles?
JM is a bit short on cash i believe - certainly know how that feels. I've only got $7k :(

Yeah I am short of cash.

Polec is my platform to get Pendles in.

With the trades I'm planning I can go Webster > Swallow and Polec > Pendles next week thus avoiding 2 round 9 donuts and further upgrading my team so I only need 4 more upgrades then (1 up back, 2 in the mids and 1 up forward)

All I'm concerned about is completing my team as soon as possible and climbing up the overall rankings as quickly as possible.

I have gone up over 30,000 places in 2 weeks.

Even if I can say go up another 15,000 places over the next 2 weeks my overall ranking goes up from 21,000 to 6,000. :rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

Who would have ever thought I'd have the chance of getting that high 3-4 weeks ago?

By getting Swallow and Pendles in next week they will definitely help the JM expresses continued climb up the overall rankings.

No way am I stopping now.

To infinity and beyond. :thumbsu:

Wow that is seriously huge! I've got like 6 trades less than you and pretty sure some others have even less. Good spot you're in...

Most of us knew it was possible and tried pretty hard to make you believe it was too :D

Horses for courses!
Personally, I'm not trading Polec as I have many cows to cull - they are mooing well, but they will be culled way before Polec.
JM situation is different, he's playing a catch up game and wants a strong midfield in a hurry

This ^

My situation is different to alot of others and I have unfortunately had to play catch up but I have now accepted the challenge from the SC gods and am relishing it. :D:thumbsu:

I've always gone with doing things differently to most people on here in the past and most of the time its paid off.

I've just got to back my decisions and plans in now going forward and pray for a little luck from the SC gods. :rainbow:

my team:

mitchell, mcveigh, enright, swallow, mcdonald, langdan (langford, georgiou)
ablett, pendles, beams, watson, polec, cotchin, aish, robertson (couch, taylor)
sandilands, goldstein (derickx, currie)
dangerfield, parker, zorko, martin, jkh, ambrose (fasolo, lloyd)

22 trades and 200000
thinking
mitchell to hibberd
mcdonald to walker ( thoughts on walker, simpson a better option?)

only leaves me with 50k then get rid of taylor hopefully for acres next week followed by aish to selwood the week after.

nope I'd say option 1 is better from the two offered

I think I was just getting too frustrated with the way my team was performing to see the bigger picture. Plus patience has never been my strong point, I admit that.

Just adding a couple of guns to my team in the last couple of weeks like Swan and Hibberd has made a huge difference and has coincided with Roughead and Enright toning up and Martin nearly toning up.

Adding Simpson this week and Pendles and Swallow next week will make things even better!
