Plenty of our flag sides have had blue collar players who play for the jumper.
It’s always been the Collingwood way.
Madge knows that and will continue to give his all.
I never said I didn't like Madge nor did I say he doesn't give his all. He will not be a part of our next flag. He is plugging up gaps until better players can return. That's simply the truth.

Reef is the next best player in the VFL. It seems he is being punished for one bad performance.
Or… he has been given things to work on by coaches who know a lot more than you.

Whatever he is doing, he will do it to the best of his ability. There are plenty of blokes in our side who could learn from him.

The selection committee does not “like to do the unexpected to maintain an aura of mystery.”
Just self indulgent tripe.
Talk about sidestep a question. I want you to explain how that is possible. I do lose faith when my knowledge of the potential and capabilities of the players on our list is proven to be more astute than that of our selection committee. You can back track and find my comments about Bianco which were written two days before the clash. No hindsight involved. Why the hell is that self indulgent? It's simply a fact.

I'm starting to feel a little less certain about the coaching crew of late. Why would Bianco be an emergency? After his terrible performance and clear lack of weapons you let him know he's still next in line and on the right path. If we are serious he never plays again.

How can we continue to name Begg as a ruck relief when he has been smashed two weeks in a row and will probably get smashed again despite the absence of English? If he is our ruck future I feel depressed about the years ahead. He is undersized and will never be big enough to play that role. He has the knack of winning possessions, has nice hands and is relatively clean at ground level. How about working on making him a forward or defender?

The forward line looks impotent. With Jack, Elliott and Krueger all out it's all on Mihocek and the opposition know it. Now we go into another game with no other marking option in the forward line. By that, I mean a target you can go long to and expect a contest. WHE might fluke a speccy in junk time and depending on how quickly we move the pill Henry might take a mark or two but I find the line up shows we have learned nothing from last week. The Dogs are undermanned height wise in defense so why not stretch them?

And Madge comes back in for a game where he has no real match up instead of playing last week when he did.

Maybe Howe can be a tall forward?

I think he's too valuable and needed in defense. I would have given Cox another go at Marvel. Closed roof. Dry night. If he is on he is a headache for a short bulldog defense and he can ruck against a kid in his first game. I think it's another opportunity lost.

You have a big opinion of yourself.
I don’t share it.

What a surprise…

Too valuable and needed in defense is a phrase I've heard a lot in recent years. Why is the backline more important than the forward line?

Nonsense. I happily put my hand up when I get it wrong. I was clearly right on this occasion and upset by the fact that our elite selection committee could not forsee what I did. Nothing to do with ego and everything to do with concern about their judgement when they are up close and personal with these boys all week every week. You still haven't explained to me what it is you think they expected from Bianco as a slow, small and not especially good kick.
What a surprise…
Stop being predictable with your responses.

So why don't you apply the same consistency when Cox is named in the 22? Clearly those who select him know a lot more than you?
You inadvertently hit on the very point I was making in my earlier posts. I would've assumed what you do until the baffling Bianco selection and dropping of Madgen last week. My confidence is now shaky.

If Martin was playing, I would have gone with Cameron / Begg ruck duties,,, Martin can't jump over an ant,,,, so was looking forward to what Beggy could produce,,

But with Sweet named (205 cms),, bring the Terminator in as a late change - 1st ruck duties,,,

Cameron is basically identically sized and seems to be much more coordinated. I'm fine with them relying on Sweet

Under lights at Marvel? Nah. I reckon the coaching staff know more than has been publicly said about Mason's progress this year unfortunately.

This is a great opportunity for Begg to continue to explore his ruck capability IMO.
