Back to a pragmatist approach to changes.

Questions to ask:
  1. Firstly who is or might be injured?
  2. Who is or might returning and be available?
  3. Reserve playing types that are calling out for selection?
  4. How many changes are we in the habit of making?
  5. Which players on form are vulnerable?
  6. Which players due to “auto returning” players are hence vulnerable?
Answers:
  1. Mayne (concussion); Thomas (leg)
  2. Beams, Aish, Cox, Sier (if VFL form is strong tomorrow)
  3. Wells (maybe he’s ready - unknown); Crocker, Quaynor, Lynch, Varcoe, Goldsack.
  4. One or two seems the norm unless forced changes - suggest maximum is two, unless forced.
  5. Wills, Reid
  6. Greenwood, Reid and Wills (also see answer 5.)
This draws me to the conclusion that both Cox and Beams will return. The players missing will be Reid and Wills.
Though we must monitor the concussion of Mayne and the leg of Thomas.
Otherwise a reprieve may be in order.

Probable omissions.
Out: Reid, Wills
In:Cox, Beams

Possible omissions.
Out:Thomas, Mayne(inj)
In:Wait and see what transpires in the VFL tomorrow.

Didn’t realise Mayne has concussion. Revise my changes:

Out: Reid, Wills, Mayne
In: Beams, Cox, Varcoe/Wells/other(decision pending outcome of VFL)

I think Aish will need a run in the two’s now before coming back in. He’s been out with Concussion for what, a month now?

I’m back after a little thought, how good is Wells? He is old but he has serious football ability and still younger than Ablett.

We hammer Reid yet he had 3 less disposals than Wills and people want to give Wills another run?

Just let that sink in.
Perhaps worth mentioning too that Reid had his 9(!) disposals in 91% TOG where as Wills did his 12 in 51%.

Does anyone know how many possessions Treloar had in the last quarter? I was sure he hadn’t cracked 20 by 3qt.
13. See attachment.

He's still popular, just not good enough any more to get a regular game.

Unfortunately, his body has really let him down. He's shown a lot of heart to get back where he is, but he's past it now.

I tend to agree. He has aged terribly in the last week. I was going to say something yesterday but i decided that he deserved another game...
