Re: Round 16 Trades

None. With 1 left, you need to be prudent

Re: Round 16 Trades

Four trades left and about 220k in the bank.

In order of likelihood, my trade options are:

1. Iles -> Priddis
2. No trade
3. Iles -> Montagna (pocketing some extra coin, to assist with sideways/injury trades).

Re: Round 16 Trades

Depends on Rioli but maybe him out to Chapman or someone, still have 8 trades.

Re: Round 16 Trades

I'm considering trading down Savage to Cooney and using the extra coin to upgrade Hurley or Trengove in the backline. Will leave me with 5 trades *ponders*

Re: Round 16 Trades

Only 2 left so not making any, forward line is only going to have 3 playing this week, with Freo and Melb and Ade byes lol

Re: Round 16 Trades

5 trades, $83,700 in bank.

Backs: Deledio, Goddard, Gibbs, Shaw, Broughton, Adcock, Otten (Heppell, Stanley, Puopolo)

My trade options are:

Otten > Enright/Suckling or
Adcock > Suckling

Brought in Adcock, Round 11. He has since scored 47, 68 and 71 and has dropped $100,000.

Thoughts please?

Re: Round 16 Trades

Probably none. Itching to get Bolton out of my side for Pendlebury but with the latter having a reasonably high breakeven this week (151) and Bolton playing GC, I might wait until next week. League is my focus so I don't need the extra points this round. 5 trades left.

Re: Round 16 Trades

I have 6 trades and 20k. I am aiming for league glory.

This is my team:

Deledio, Goddard, Gibbs, Enright, Suckling, Adcock (Heppel, Stanley, Mckernan)

Pendlebury, Swan, Hodge, J Corey, J Selwood, Mzungu (Hibberd, Prestia, Atley)

Cox, Sandilands (Z Smith, Derickx)

Pavlich, Fyfe, Franklin, Goodes, N. Riewoldt, A Krakouer, C. Rioli (I Smith, J Darling, B Matera)

I don't have the trades left to allow me to upgrade everyone. I'm thinking I dump Sandilands for an inanimate carbon rod, and swap Selwood for Ablett...

leaving me with a tonne of money and 4 trades.

From there, each round of the finals (if I have trades) I'll swap the relevant Carlton/Geelong/whoever player with the best performing equivalent.

Thoughts?

If you're only going for league wins don't trade out Selwood when this week is a league bye and the last week of his suspension! Sounds like you could leave your double trade for next week unless prices are going to move too much (doesn't look like it).

If you're just going for the league win, it's probably worthwhile to hold your fire on trades this week, particularly since Selwood will be back the week after. You do need to make another upgrade in the midfield, I'd suggest going the Sandi for...whoever and Mzungu for Ablett (after Mzungu has hit his peak - sorry, not sure what the b/e's are). If you trade Selwood for Ablett, you're still a premium mid short.

One thing about Geelong players, depending on your league position, you can avoid their bye by making the top four and winning your first final. If you're confident you can do this, I'd strongly urge you to hang on to Selwood. Remember, he didn't do his hammy or anything like that, he's been fit and ready to go for the past four weeks and hasn't been able to get out there, due to suspension. I think he's going to come back breathing fire. Having said that, it would be risky having Corey and Selwood for finals, because if you are playing in the second week, you're at a significant disadvantage.

I'd also suggest that your forward line is looking in more need of urgent help than your midfield. How long is Rioli out for? I'd suggest trading two of Krakouer/Darling/Matera for Callinan and the premium that most takes your fancy (O'Keefe to provide both midfield/forward help? Very handy if you need to cover for Corey/Selwood in finals).

I think that gets you close enough to a team of premiums.
M: Pendlebury, Swan, Hodge, J Corey, J Selwood, Ablett (Hibberd, Prestia, Atley)
R: Cox, Z. Smith (Gorringe/Gawn etc., Derrickx)
F: Pavlich, Fyfe, Franklin, Goodes, N. Riewoldt, O'Keefe, C. Rioli (I Smith, Callinan, B Matera)

Hopefully you can make something like these trades (or similar) with the money you make from Sandilands/Krakouer/Darling/Mzungu (or whichever other cash cows you choose to dump)

It really depends on your current ladder position though. If you are cruising to a top four spot, I'd suggest maybe trade for Callinan this week and that's it. Re-assess Sandilands next week...no rush to dump him now, if you're not concerned with your overall position.

If you were going to trade Selwood you should have done so already, with him now being back next week, having a reasonably soft run home and no chance of being rested in the run home (unlike many of his teammates) you should hold. Especially with only 5 premium mids you are better off doing an upgrade rather than sidewaysing. Agree with the Ablett idea though, with the Sandi cash I'd go Atley to Ablett (keep Mzungu for the MPP). That said you may want to save cash for your forward line also so you could look at premiums in the mids cheaper than Ablett (e.g. Priddis etc).

Up forward Darling or Matera should go, probably for ROK. You need to decide whether you're keeping Cyril and whether you can afford to drop your next league game as you have 3 hawk forwards (although you can get Smith into the mids). Even with that though I'd probably hold Cyril and focus on an upgrade instead.

Re: Round 16 Trades

^^^^^ isn't Callinan injured with a hammy?

Anyway, may trade him in next weekif he isn't out injured considering Adelaide have the bye this week and hopefully upgrade Z.Smith and/or Heppell later in a week or 2 after that.

Oh...crap. Disregard if Callinan is out with a hammy. Perhaps shift Krakouer into the midfield and trade him for Blease...? That would definitely be a 'wait until after the bye' scenario though, as Blease has only had one game as a sub.

Re: Round 16 Trades

currently sitting 6th in my league, and chasing that league win.

still have 10 trades & $250k. in the last 3 H&A in SC i play 1st, 2nd & 5th (2 wins clear of me). :(

anyway looking at the remaining draw i only need 1 more win to make the finals, with a pocket full of trades.

still have plenty of gaps to fill. the question is do i trade in these BYE weeks, to upgrade the team ASAP, or wait till the remaining H&A games ?

im favouring ASAP, as i need that 1 win.

thoughts.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Hey Guys,

Do you think Montag to Ablett is a sideways trade? I see it as an upgrade but then I will only have 3 trades left and $110k.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: Round 16 Trades

I am not sure if I should pull the tigger and try and finish off my team this week (then ride out the season with x3 trades left and only trade to cover LTI) or wait a week.

My plans were to go

Harris -> ROK, who I would then swap for I. Smith in the forward line.
Howe -> Sylvia, then swap him over with Smith so he is back in the forward line.

My team will then look like

Backs. Deledio, Fisher, Goddard, Gibbs, Shaw, Enright, Puopolo
Lower, Jacobs, Strauss

Mids. Ablett, Pendlebury, Judd, Cotchin, Swan, Bartel
Sylvia, Hibberd, Mzungu

Ruck. Cox, Smith
J. Tippett, Keeffe

Forwards. Pavlich, Goodes, Petrie, Franklin, Riewoldt, ROK, Yarran
Rioli, Lynch, Smith

So Petrie can cover for my rucks if needed, Sylvia and ROK/Pav/Goodes can cover for the midfield (with Rioli/Yarran taking their place as needed). Sure I am short a premium in the backline, but there are no other stable backline premiums ATM who will consistantly score more than Puopolo/Lower so I would rather not burn a trade back there.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Hibberd for Priddis this week leaving me with 6 trades. F7 my main issue but done now until finals.

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, G. Broughton, J Adcock, H Shaw, C Newman B Deledio, (A Otten C Howard B Jacobs)

MID: D. Swan, L. Montagna, M. Boyd, S Pendlebury, G Ablett, M Priddis (I Callinan, T Mzungu D Heppell,)

RUC: D Petrie, D. Cox (Z. Smith, B Moran)

FWD: N. Riewoldt, L. Franklin, R O’Keefe , A. Goodes, C. Sylvia, P Chapman, I Smith, (A Didak, D. Prestia, J Tippett)

Re: Round 16 Trades

I noticed quite a few of you don't have Fyfe in your line up - is that because the majority of you are going for overall wins?
