50 Game Milestone:

Not so long ago, during the reign of the immortal fitzroybowiedog – the Roys won Qooty games. I know, I know – this sounds like a fairy tale and time for poor old TedDougChris to lay off the grog and shuffle off to the retirement home again – but this time, it’s true..

About 51 games ago, the Roys won the S25 Grand Final….

And in Round 2, S26 – a player started their journey towards a 50 game milestone… And when a player reaches the 50 game milestone, it’s time to look back and reflect – analyse what has worked and what needs improvement.

First of all, let’s look on field. For the past 49 games, this future potential champion has achieved the following:

Played 49
Won 17
Lost 31
Drawn 1

That’s bloody terrible….

Who is this player to cause such misery to a sides fortunes ?? Is it Broken ?? No – he has sadly left and things have gotten much, much worse.. Is it goal kicking champion and All SFA player Mooch ? Nope….

Actually, I’ve slightly led you astray here. For this isn’t this players first 50 games collective. It’s their 9th… You see, this week, you have the pleasure of running on the field to celebrate the 450th game of the great and powerful wizard of Mobbs !!!

And after last year’s success with milestone games and media pieces (7 milestone games, 7 media pieces, 7 losses) – we’ve decided to learn from our failures and ****ing keep this to ourselves…

And the Furies, who – if they have any decency – won’t turn up this week to let the Great Man celebrate with a victory…. Which given we have lost 13 of our last 7 games, is very unlikely otherwise…

So, in order to top up our bribery and corruption fund, these limited edition shirts will again be made available for sale this week….



So - please join in the congratulations for our humble champion, creator of all that is good (we won't blame him for the Bombers) - Mobbs !!!!

Bespoke Barrels Award: Round 1 vs Gumbies (we miss you Barrels !!)



In a highly entertaining match thread, only topped by a thrilling one point victory - there were numerous nominations for the first Barrels award for S29.

These included the two Gumbie rookies, TalkingFootyNow1223 and GWS Goose - both were very engaging and entertaining in their first match, quickly picking up the varying levels of banter that exist and responding appropriately. Both have bright futures in the land of Sweet.

Other nominations included: Barrybran for his valiant attempt to out-spam me, the legend that is beez for his continual on point humour and laughing at the Bombers (well, why wouldn't you ??), whoever was talking about tennis (this doesn't appear to be a username, so I cannot @ them JackNah_8 ....)

But due to a quirk in the draw and me abusing my powers for the good of myself (sorry, got carried away channeling my inner Admin there) - the first ever back to back winner of the Barrels award is: StFly !!



Well done sir, we look forward to meeting you again (I have no idea who we play twice.....) later in the season....

Bespoke Barrels Award - Round 2 vs Hawks.

Another enjoyable match thread to kick off the season, shame about the appalling result. We had lost by quarter time and continued in our fine efforts to lose for another two and a half quarters, only to mount some sort of stupid comeback in the final term briefly. Why ?? Who knows !!

Despite this, we will focus on the positives and the fine, entertaining and amusing contributions from our opponents on the day.

There was much praise for the often underappreciated NaturalDisaster - we're not sure if he meant to be this entertaining, or was going for another angle and completely missed ?? But credit where it's due !!

We aren't sure how we lost to a Drunken Wookie and a Drunkgoliath, but along with support from por_please_ya and larrikan and Golumless - they managed to get the Hawks across the line and contribute to a fun match thread.

But the winner of the Barrels award for Round 2 is none other than Agent93 !! Congratulations, and make sure you share this with the troops just before our next match....
