Round 15

We're at that point in the season where everyone seems to have been nominated, not contributing or got beaten badly by their opponent. TY24 led all rookies for the round coming off the bench to collect 24 disposals and two goals but brought donuts in the posting column to rule himself out of a nomination. Round 9 nominee, JackBero, was the other standout rookie for the round as he collected 21 disposals, nine tackles and six free kicks as the Furies beat the Bears. Gratees and mochacinolatte were solid against their opponents but a lack of contribution in their match threads hurt their chances of a nomination this week. Previous nominees GCB85, Antonio BlueVein, StickyMick, cadsky and Dr Mantis Taboggan were also solid this week.

Furies senior players maybe in a shit fight at the moment but great to see a Furies rookie stepping up and doing the job

Well done JackBero

The tough love program we run for rookies is again getting great results.

Take note other clubs: mothering newbies is not how to develop qooty players.

Treat them mean, abuse them and flog them any chance you get.

Furies Rookies Bastardisation program has produced S25 Tigerturbulance, S27 Carson Dial and S28 JackBero.

Round 16

The rookies finished the season strongly with 17 players beating their opponents to finish the home and away season. Round 4 nominee cadsky collected 13 disposals and two goals on a half forward flank while keeping his opponent to three touches for the day. Bombers' rookies, Metalcrusher and Riviat, were solid, collecting 14 and 13 disposals respectively. The round belonged to another Bombers rookie, mochacinolatte, who picked up 16 disposals at centre half back while keeping his opponent to eight disposals for the day. I sat down with mochacinolatte and Bombers' captain, Tony Lynn 15, to discuss his performance.

Tony Lynn 15

BB: Well, here we are. The men's toilets at Sweet FA Park. Should we try the disabled loos?

TL15: Happy to go with the flow. Perhaps for once we can try it with both of us in the same stall and one without a hole in the wall?

BB: How did you find mochacinolatte? What has he added to the Bombers this season?

TL15: You are testing my memory here. mochacinolatte was out of either the KohPhi or WaynesWorld19 Qooty Factory. He has been a brilliant addition to the team and has always contributed where needed. It is sometimes difficult to stand out in the Bombers but Mocha has brought a calmness that often is required.

BB: mochacinolatte's nomination gives you four Rising Star nominations for the season. How would you describe your rookies' collective performance on and off the field this season?

TL15: I am extremely pleased and proud with how each of our rookies contributed this season. They all brought something to the table and added a freshness that was needed at Baghdad. This is the most rookies we have brought into the team in many seasons and all made their mark in their own way.

BB: They certainly did. Thanks for your time and good luck for the f.... well, I'll see you next time.

I do actually have a method. It probably won't be popular but hey, nothing I've done has been popular this season :)
good luck,

casting my eye over your list of fresh rookie meat there is 6 that could win.

the class of S28 certainly have a case for claiming themselves as the best rookie season.

Not only are they a strong list of posters and personalities, reckon they will also have longevity.

To me judging the best rookie season has to take into account the influence that group has going forward into multiple seasons and not just be one hit wonders.

Beandip will win this. And keep the trophy in his freezer compartment.

Or in the egg area.

On DUB-LX2 using BigFooty.com mobile app

I would like to believe this, unfortunately I think some late-season fading - both due to fitness base and a newborn will cripple my chances!

Amongst the storied intake of S.28 rookies stands the paragon of Beandip

From Game 1 he set the benchmark for every Rookie. His Herculean efforts from then almost got the Roy's into the Finals.

We echo the comments from Mobbs and #BobCarolTed&Alice
