To be the level of draft tampering it would have to be something significant.
Making a deal for Gold Coast not to select certain players would count. Instructing a player to throw an interview probably doesn’t. Would be surprised if it’s us tbh,

The existence of Gold Coast is an example of draft tampering by the AFL.

The AFL integrity officer handling the investigation is also currently dealing with other Qld based issues, re MA.

If I had $5 for every time I have read that is draft tampering on big footy I would be rich man.
Nobody has ever posted what the rules are. I dont get how people can say situation x is draft tampering, yet they have never read the actual rule(s) about it.
With the whole legal status of the draft being very questionable, its no wonder the AFL keep the rules as vague as possible.
People forget that the Full Federal Court, a 3-0 decision in 1991 in Re PHILLIP ADAMSON and OTHERS And NEW SOUTH WALES RUGBY LEAGUE said the draft was illegal in Rugby League after a single judge ruled in favour of the league 6 months earlier.
This appeal was made by the RL Players Association on behalf of a single player. The AFL has tightened things up with a series of Collective Bargaining Agreements over the last 27 years after this case, but no one knows for sure how a fully blown court proceedings ie decision then appeals, would rule on the AFL draft.
It will be interesting to see if the AFL publish what their investigation unit has found, whether they rule one way or the other.
Any AFL integrity investigation involving Ashcroft could be about an incident last weekend when he and Tony Lockett’s brother at a junior match in Qld turned physical and Police were called. Both had sons playing in that game on the same team.

So this rumour was started on a carlton forum by 1 poster who they dont know is real or fake or a copycat and some spud has run with it and created this thread after going on other teams boards to try and spread the rumour. Have i got this all correct ?
