When you say upcoming weekend, I take that as Ken will still be here even after the BF ?Well I have good relationships with these people. And in many ways I'm seen as an advisor to bounce ideas off. They value my input and opinion, and I know when to keep my mouth shut without having to be told as such. Absolute nothing that I say on here can be linked to a single individual. The information is generic, but I hope it gives people a bit of an understanding as to the Club's thinking. People are welcome to take it at whatever value they deem it.
This, this, this! Thank you.
Anyways, at this current rate I look forward to this thread reaching it's 13th iteration most likely over the upcoming weekend. Have a good night.
Kens holding them to his contract i guess.
The one they gave him…
I didn't hear the interview (refuse to listen to his dribble) but have read the quotes on here. I think he's talking to his detractors & not the club. You wouldn’t be begging for the club to keep you on. Which is what he did in that interview.
Of course they are to blame too, but Ken should finally admit he can't go the extra step. He's had 12 years. You can't say you can't blame him. He has not shown a skerrick of self-awareness.
All true, but when you have an underperforming employee who won't budge those in charge need to act. That's why they're in charge.Of course they are to blame too, but Ken should finally admit he can't go the extra step. He's had 12 years. You can't say you can't blame him. Walking out before member question time at the AGMs shows he has some self-awareness. He's knows he can't perform in that environment. It just doesn't suit him to fess up publicly, he wants the money & is a very stubborn person. People like Ken who get an opportunity don't let it go easily. This fiasco is on those that continue to employ him.Of course they are to blame too, but Ken should finally admit he can't go the extra step. He's had 12 years. You can't say you can't blame him. All the wristys he's received in the media by the Whateleys of this world has him genuinely believing he's a great coach.Of course they are to blame too, but Ken should finally admit he can't go the extra step. Possession is nine tenths of the law apparently, so Ken owns a contract, so that puts the odds in his favour.Currently, he’s staying.
It would always be difficult. If Davies had gone, the odds of him leaving would be higher. Now, I think we need a miracle.
Especially when they have repeatedly said that that is what they will do when the time comes.Yes but that wasn't the point of the original post which was you can't blame Ken, he's only sticking to his contract. He shares the blame too because there comes a time when a self-aware, altruistic person would say I've given it my best shot and come up short. Time to move on.

On the other hand now that Davies is staying, the club may feel better about letting Ken go, losing to much experience at one time may have had the club worried.Currently, he’s staying.

They better beIt's guaranteed to be a shitshow next year if he remains. The boooooos will be deafening in round 1.
But it's getting to him, he's feeling the heat. If he had no self awareness he would be immune to his detractors. This is why he's coming out with all the bravado crap. All that shows is he won't tolerate people who can't see how unlucky he's been. He is showing zero appreciation of the opinions of those around him because he has no self-awareness. He is only interested in those who validate his self-belief.
Spot on. He is a very selfish man imo. Most rational and decent humans would realise that it is all over and move on for the betterment of the club. Here's an idea. How about Port giving Ken a crack at another club? You know a club without a 'shit list'. His 'expert' supporters in the AFL media can put a list of potential new clubs dying to employ this 'coaching genius' together in no time flat, surely?
Do Ken a favour, sack Hinkley!

That would be even better but it won't happen. Many attended the Hawks final after the pathetic effort against the Cats. I wasn't one of them.Or perhaps everyone doesn’t attend and then there are crickets.
Indeed. I just can’t fathom why the twits at the top persist with this fraud.Just the fact he says things like "I AIN'T going anywhere"
Ain't!
The guys a buffoon! Why are we so beholden to this twit??

There really has been no point for years. It has been the biggest swindle in the club’s history embarrassingly so.Surely the club knows the benefits/risks ratio between keeping him or parting ways for next year.
1 x bad loss, like 50-100 point loss and the boo's and backlash from fans will be larger than anything this year.
He's not getting us to a GF or winning us a flag, any objectivity can tell you that.
The contract will be a huge distraction all year a la 2023, and likely burn out the playing group.
We have our replacement sitting there, warmed up ready to go.
What.......is.........the.......point........of......keeping........him!!

I have decided to go silent with family & friends frow now onwards. They are well aware of my feelings. If his name is brought up my reply will only be 'Ken who'.
