Listening to Davies' press conference, he seemed to me to hedge a lot of questions. He was happy to talk about stuff that was done and dusted and gave clear answers about that, but as soon as it turned to Ken, he seemed to say a lot without really saying anything definite about his future at the club. Didn’t even revert to the old 'he's contracted for next year'.

'he has the energy'...... for next year.

Meaning he might but those circling for his sacking might get him.

Let's be positive, and suggest that by the time we reach 10000 posts in this thread, we'll be talking about ex Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley.

This week it's all "can't make an announcement until the Grand Final is over".

Next week it'll be all "can't enter Trade Week with uncertainty over the coach".

I'm betting they're going back to their standard playbook of disappearing over the postseason and wheeling Hinkley out again in preseason when the emotions around another embarassing finals exit have subsided a bit.
