Certified Legendary Thread Sack Hinkley 13 - Another Crack At This (Stepping down end of 2025)

but the only stand out is Rd 1 2019 v Melbourne when Rozee, Butters and Duursma debuted, Drew debuted after spending most of his first 2 years on the injury list, and making their club debut were Burton and Lycett.

We bullied Max Gawn and others and shut down the mid field that was supposed to take Melbourne to another Prelim Final or Grand Final, after they lost the 2018 Prelim.

Now that loss helped send Melbourne to a poor season and 17th and you can say it wasn't a great win, but 2 years later the Melbourne midfield that played in that 2019 game ie Gawn, Pettraca, Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw and Neal-Bullen were premiership players.

That was the one where it was trumpeted left and right as a crèche full of Goldilockses going over and beating the big bad wolf in its own lair against all odds — but overall, our team was actually slightly older and more experienced on the day (and played like it).

The entire Hinkley Era is an empire of meagre achievements bathed in bullsh¡t like these.

Of course it comes down to money.

I personally don't think Ken has wanted to be coach for the last few years, and Port have been too gutless to move him on. Instead, they've offered him ridiculous money to continue. And I believe that has occurred in large part because none of the decision makers want the spotlight on them in regards to football related decisions at the Club.

If the Club offered to pay him out in full at 9am this morning, I would be surprised if he took longer than 5 minutes to accept it - not that it's going to happen this week at least.

You only have to look at the off-season where Ken literally had to tell the Club he was up for the fight to go around another year. If that were truly the case, it never would have even been a question mark that needed to be answered.
Is the board aware they manage a football club?

Butters, Bergman, Farrell, Byrne-Jones, Lord and Sinn etc. who are all out of contract in 2025 or 2026. If the club doesn't act quickly in moving ken now it could well cost us in retaining whatever talent we have.

Hinkleys comment in the presser…
“We are in transition we are in the space of playing a slightly different game style”

Nice ken pushing the narrative is Carr fault

This team has consistently failed both on field, and it’s time to rip the band-aid off and start rebuilding the club from the base up.
DBJ I don't think is a risk but the Vic clubs would be smelling blood with others. Circling like vultures. Lol this could end in absolute tears

Hopefully David Koch read that - I still chuckle at his comments at the AGM, "Injuries killed us in this year's finals", and "If only Sydney had played against us the way they played in the grand final." LOSER TALK!!!!!
Koch hasn't got the self-awareness to relate that to our situation.

I can't chuckle at the Swans comment, it's infuriating. Koch has improved our financial situation but he's killed our club culture.

The problem is we wont lose this week. How many job saving wins has this guy had over the years. Normally involves flat tracking some no hoper team in an unimpressive manner and Hinkley and co celebrating like they just won a flag to prove all the white noise wrong. Get ready for smug Hinkley post 25 point win over Richmond.

The whole * points to the team after just getting over the line to a horrible St Kidla side and saying "Good boys, they're good boys" through crocodile tears make me want to VOMIT!

If were a betting man I would say the Crows fortunes like it or not will have a massive up swing in 2025, I would go as far to say they will finish higher than Port. The club had the mass clean out it needed and now has recruited well.

If my predictions are on the money, Koch and Davies may want to pack their bags and **** off with Hinkley, how would they explain our fall down the ladder and finishing lower than the Camry's.
They will explain it by saying we've been up for a long time & that's the cyclical nature of the Afl

Yeah mate, I've despised Koch since that vomit-worthy moment when he had his arm around Rob Chapman's neck. Every time his lips move, I cringe.

The Board need to have an honest think about who they're listening to when it comes to football related matters.

Surely the club is ready for this though and is working to minimise the damage. CEO Matthew Richardson has stated before that one of the reasons for renewing Hinkley's contract is that the club fears that a large number of players will request trades to Hinkley's new club.

Hinkley admitted in 2017 that he no longer thought being an AFL coach was important. Since then he has just been going through the motions and is happy to keep collecting his salary.

Ken got a but testy in his presser

The fact he has the thinnest skin in the world emphasises how little scrutiny he faces inside his bubble, what with Koch previously calling him a ‘superhero’, Richo claiming they fear a pied piper exodus, and Daniel Norton going on that podcast a couple of years ago and glazing him like a silicon t¡t festival.

The emotional maturity of a snivelling teen.

Surely even they are diminishing in number by now - SURELY!
Nope lol. Remember the great ANT made a Hinkley love montage only days ago.

The Advertiser said:
On Tuesday at Alberton, Hinkley said it was just “some opinions based off one loss” and his resolve to coach had not waivered at all.

“I think we have been really clear on that, there is absolutely no confusion,” he said.

“I said right from the start I have plenty of energy for the job, Josh and I know exactly what is going on, the whole football club knows what is going on.

“People have some opinions based off one loss.

“Not one bit (he doesn’t waiver), no I don’t enjoy big losses regardless of it was 91 (points) and the next biggest was 86 or something like that, five points, it is a bad loss.

“Yes it hits the top of the benchmark for my career, but when you are losing by 90 points or 86 points it is bad.”

“The two people you are talking about [Kane Cornes and Nick Riewoldt] they aren’t asking me that question, if they want to I am really happy for them to ask me that question,” he said.

“I think you know what the answer is, of course it is I am as excited as I have been all year.

“I said that all the way through, I am disappointed in a really bad loss but I am not going to waiver or jump to a position that I wasn’t in last Thursday.

“I am excited about what this team can do, I am excited about the growth of this team and I am excited about the direction of this footy club.

“Saturday night makes it hard for everyone to accept that it was the right direction right now but before that it was pretty good.”
