Parting ways with Hinkley is the first step of undoing everything we dislike about our club if I can call it that any more

The whole place needs to be reset, they have to repair the relationship between the club and supporters and the mindset of making finals is a pass mark. We have a long long way to go to be the club we would like it to be.

Josh Carr might be the beginning but I fear the mountain will be to big, even for Carr. Hinkley is one of 4 problems, that leaves Richardson, Davies and Koch, much has to change. The biggest thing will be for Carr to reverse the damage done to the players.

I hope I am reading Carr correctly and he can see what we do, I just don't understand why we are wasting this season by keeping Ken.

The more I observe this situation from a distance and read these comments, the more I am reminded of the 2022 State Election. Where constant agitation and scare mongering resulted in the downfall of a Government who had no hope of correcting the absolute catastrophe caused by the last administration, mainly due to the large number of cancer cells from the previous regime lingering around to stymie their attempts. I only hope, for the sake of you good people and your enjoyment of the game, and indeed the future of the PAFC, that when Carr ascends to the top job, he does a much better job than the train wreck Malignant Malinauskas and his bunch of socialist criminals are forcing upon South Australia. However, therein I fear, lies the answer. Just as Malinauskas is a cancer cell left over from the previous diabolical regime, so too is Carr. A complete cleanout of all of those cancer cells is the only way out of the mess.

For me the biggest question isnt why he was extended in 2020 or 2017 but rather why he wasnt sacked after 2018 or 2019.

Simple - because they didn't have the money to pay out multiple years on his contract.

Of all the opinions I’ve ever read, this is certainly one of them.

But he didn't really answer anything lol.... and wouldn't answer certain questions because they were essentially being asked second hand. Do some of these media people actually watch the same thing we do?
The Dork has to think up 18 different "sliding doors" comments every week. Even in the ridiculous "foody bubble" these losers live in, it wouldn't be an easy task, especially for clubs outside the "foody bubble" of Malbun, even harder for "interstate" clubs they don't give a flying fcuk about. He latches onto any little narrative and runs with it and thinks to himself tick, that's one of my shitty sliding doors hot takes I don't have to think about any more.

Socialism is when Malinauskas has a six pack.

The stubbornness of everyone at the club is one of the most glaring issues.

They are so insular, so willing to plug their ears and ride things out to the bitterest of ends rather than admit fault and move to correct.

Year after wasted year.

Reflecting and acknowledging failure, in doing so enabling learning, change and progress, is something these guys just do not do!

I said earlier in the week that if they lose to Richmond the jig will almost be up for Ken, but I'm cooling, because I can so very realistically see this mob bunkering down and parroting their commitment to Ken and the path set as some kind of example of stoic resilience and great governance.

Christ the state of things at this club I loved so much!

It's probably supremely optimistic, but if Port wins the 2026 flag under Carr, it'll only emphasise the stupidity of hanging onto Hinkley for so long.

Calling it now: Donuts will walk away at some point this year, and we'll be portrayed as the ungrateful, feral scum that drove the great Kenny Hinkley out of town, and the entire narrative will be "They're your problem now, Josh Carr. Good luck!"
I want to find out tomorrow if this is true or not.

I agree & disagree with this statement which is weird
I don't see the point in waiting. Get rid of him now, and we might actually salvage something out of 2025.

This is the perfect question that should be put to players, especially Boak.

They love him so much but in important games like Finals, you know the must win games to make a GF they make him look like the worst coach in the AFL (because he is) and show him that's how much the playing group really care.

****ing soft media should be asking these questions, if you want him to remain coach, why do you continually let him down when it counts.

The players need to understand that their lack luster performances like the Collingwood game is what's destroying the coach they love so much, not us supporters, it's about time someone said it publicly to the club and players. Weak bastards all of them.

If it's not the coach then it must be the players, maybe the heat should be applied to them, then maybe we will get some truths.

Maybe I just answered my own question, it's all just fluff.
Exhibit A - players laughing in the rooms after losing by 15 goals.

Listen to this absolute horseshit.

You just got spanked by 15 goals in round 1 Travis. You and Hinkley can retire together to some country Victoria shithole today and you can absolutely love him there for the rest of your natural life.

I *ing hate hearing about how much they love him as they shit the bed so badly in every big game that we have to call for a hard rubbish collection. * off.

I'm very unhappy Boak is breaking Russell's record but I'm sure it's one of the reasons the club encouraged him to continue. They want to remove as many ties to Ports successful era as possible.
