Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Hmm thinking about:
Vince -> Barlow then
Gumbleton -> J.Brown/ROK

Thoughts?
You need Barlow in your team, but Vince has had a tough two weeks, argubly up against the best two taggers in the game in Crowley and Kirk. I'd hang onto him, anybody else in your midfield you can downgrade?
But do it, Vince should be going down, and you need Barlow.

Well i could just trade Dustin Martin for Barlow? But i like the idea of getting either Brown or ROK in, but im not sure.

Should I trade Howlett to Bastinac?

Unfortunetly Howlett got dropped this week for whatever reason and Bastinac looks to have cemented himself in the Roos 22 for the time being. Bastinac is also scoring well and is set for a big price increase over the next few weeks.

Pros: I jump on a good cash cow, can help me with later upgrades, extra EMG option, Bastinac is a safer option than Howlett in terms of job security

Cons: It costs a trade, it costs 11k, it's a sideways trade, uncertainty over Howlett (he may come back next week anyway, may just have been rested this week)

Every other bench player I have is playing this week (bar my 83k 2nd ruck) so it isn't really a 'must-do' trade, but it'd be nice to catch a good cash cow before the price rise.

Should I trade Howlett to Bastinac?

seems like a bit of a waste, but if you think howlett won't get a game for a few weeks it may be worth looking at. having trades up your sleeve really does help, last year i got r*ped by injury and was copping 4-5 0's because i was running out of trades.

I'm about to pull the trigger on Tippett, he's in my forward line (the whole ruck backup thing, but i have Sandi and Nicnat so i seem to be set right now) just have to work out what i do. options are:
Tippett --> Peterson
Tippett --> Dangerfield

Tempted by the Peterson trade because i also have Medhurst, Hall, and Ball, however i want to give those guys another week before i look at dumping them. Dangerfield is obviously the safer bet, but i like the look of Peterson and i assume he's pretty much taken Mark Williams spot in the forward line so he should keep his position as long as he performs.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Good trade, can you tell me your other mids?

Mids: Ablett,Dal Santo,Boyd,Pendlebury,Shuey,Martin,L.Jetta,Banner.

I can't trade Shuey,Banner,Jetta for Barlow, won't give me enough cash for Seaby trade. Therefore Martin has to be the one.

I have decided I'm doing these 2 trades. Can't afford to carry 3 average ruckman.

What do you think?

1) Kurt Tippett $425,900 for Hayden Ballantyne $268,900

and

2) Barry Hall $366,000 for Jonathan Brown $525,400

A good trade or not? Some advice would be very helpful. Thanks

Yeah go with it.

My question; Using the cash I got with Seaby to Upgrade Masten
Masten> Judd/Pendlebury?
Or wait until round 8-10 So i can possibly trade Masten for Ablett?

This game is about taking the odd risk... and that is a RISKY trade.

Could end terribly with Ballantyne playing in the magoos, Tippet reaching his potential, etc.

But on the other hand, Ballantyne could have a break out season averaging 75-90 and Brown keeps doing what he's doing.

So in saying all of that, I like it! :thumbsu:

From what I've seen most people appear to be favouring a back downgrade (eg: silvagni, maguire, waters) to upgrade Tippett.

Tippett's carrying a knee injury thats why I'm getting rid of him now. If Ballantyne averages 80 ill be happy. And if Brown continues his form his price will sky rocket. Thanks for the advice.

Trading Luke Ball, who should i get
K Cornes or T Boak?

Thanks guys

I'd say Boak, his time on ground has been a bit less than Kornes.... for simmilar scores.

Does anyone think that going Clark to Sandi & then Medhurst to Dangerfield is too sideways? only the 2nd part of it worries me a little..... wished id left danger in, got sucked into medhurst after dangerfields scores in the NAB....

How confident are you that Ballantyne will play the season out?

Haven't seen any Freo games (this year), so don't know much about him.

I can't wait for Tippett to drop 110 and for Browney to have 65 this weekend.

I really need some help .
This is my team :
Backs: Goddard Enright Hodge Hurn H.Shaw Malceski Kennely
Em Waters Nason

Midfield: Selwood Pendlebury Mitchell Barlow Martin Connors
Em Trengove Shuey

Rucks: Clark Nicnat
Em Warnock Lobbe

Forwards: Riewolt Okeefe Gia Gray Hall Mayne Hitchcock
Em Gumbleton Roberts

I have several under performing premiums. My backline is just about set although suspension to Hurn and injury to Shaw has me in a little trouble this week. my first question is, should sivagni/maguire be traded in to free up some cash for either Kennely?
Happy with my midfield.
Rucks Nicnat is travelling okay with Clark struggling but should soon bounce back.
FORWARDS have made some poor premium choices and had some bad luck with Gray. Should i trade out say Hall and Gray for Brown and Ballynte ? or something of the like. Gia is also a poor pick but looks as though he ll be staying. WILL GRAY BE BACK NEXT WEEK?

Option 1. Kennely > maguire /silvagni then Hall > J.Brown
Option 2. Hall > Ballynte then Gray > Brown

PLEASE HELP thanks

Either options looks pretty sound IMO, just depends whether or not you want to keep the faith with Gray. I'd probably be leaning towards Kennelly > Silvagni, Hall > Brown.

I've got a similar quandry to most this week. I don't really have to trade, but the Hall/Tippett combo are worrying me, and it makes me sick seeing Malsexi rip it up after I stuck with him for so long in '09.

B: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Hurn, Waters, Raines (Silvagni & Maguire)
M: Ablett, Dal Santo, Selwood, Barlow, Shuey, Bastinac (Martin & Trengrove)
R: Sandilands, NicNat (Trengrove & Lobbe)
F: Riewoldt, ROK, Franklin, Higgins, Tippett, Hall, Hitchcock (Duncan & Roberts)

Option 1: Hurn > Malsexi (+ $295k)
Option 2: Raines > Malsexi (+$20k)
Option 3: Hall > Danger/Balla, Tippett > J Brown (+ $5k/ +$69k)
Option 4: Hurn > Malsexi, Hall > J Brown (+ $131k)

Or nothing at all?

quite an insane trade by me but hoping it pays off in a couple of weeks.

This week: MacDonald (Out) Silvagni (in) Maguire into 22, Silvagni (EM) (357k in bank)

in the next couple of weeks: Nason (Out) Hurn/Shaw/fisher (In)

I should stop reading this thread... it's got me considering trades now...

Out: Kennelly and Tippett
In: Silvagni and Brown

VERSUS

Out: Hall & Tippett
In: Ballantyne and Brown

Decisions. Decisions.
