I have Joel Macdonald ($421,300) to trade

for any player below $360 (already have eski/HOB/Kennelly/Maguire)

So which of these (or any I missed)
Beau Waters ($151,100)
Ryan Schoenmakers ($196,900)
Josh Hunt ($252,300)
Rick Ladson ($249,300)
Luke McPharlin ($352,000)

Then I can do Tippet to Brown

Either options looks pretty sound IMO, just depends whether or not you want to keep the faith with Gray. I'd probably be leaning towards Kennelly > Silvagni, Hall > Brown.

I've got a similar quandry to most this week. I don't really have to trade, but the Hall/Tippett combo are worrying me, and it makes me sick seeing Malsexi rip it up after I stuck with him for so long in '09.

B: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Hurn, Waters, Raines (Silvagni & Maguire)
M: Ablett, Dal Santo, Selwood, Barlow, Shuey, Bastinac (Martin & Trengrove)
R: Sandilands, NicNat (Trengrove & Lobbe)
F: Riewoldt, ROK, Franklin, Higgins, Tippett, Hall, Hitchcock (Duncan & Roberts)

Option 1: Hurn > Malsexi (+ $295k)
Option 2: Raines > Malsexi (+$20k)
Option 3: Hall > Danger/Balla, Tippett > J Brown (+ $5k/ +$69k)
Option 4: Hurn > Malsexi, Hall > J Brown (+ $131k)

Or nothing at all?

option 2 definately. next best would be option 3. thanks for your help.

Who do you think is more important to get this week?

J Brown (before price rise) for K Tippett (before price drop)

OR

M Seaby (before rise) for D Hille

wanted to do both but I'm 5k short. Have to trade M Farmer to get Silvagni to free up money if I am to get Brown for Tippett

make sense? What do you think?

Waters, definitely, for mine. At $150k, he is magnificent value IMO.

Any thoughts on mine?

Raines > Malsexi, you reckon? I do like it, but am wondering if it's worth the trade.

Cheers mate. I'd almost forgotten how ****ing painful these Friday arvo trading dilemmas were. An entire day devoted to solely this.

This ruck thing with Clark & Johno Brown starting so well is doing my head in!!

  1. I can go Clark to Sandi. If I do this I can't afford to bring Brown in at all but i can swap Medhurst for Dangerfield (too sideways?)
  2. If I go to Kruezer I can sawp Hall for Brown
  3. If i go Seaby I can bring brown in for Medhurst
These options have been rolling around in my head for the last 2 days (except throwing Dangerfield in, thats just complicated it more:eek:)

HELP!!! anyone got any thoughts? which way to jump??

Neither are urgent IMO. I have Tippett in both my teams, and Hille in my second, and am leaning towards leaving them both where they are. If you were to do either, i'd do the first, primarily due to this tendonitis concern.

Any thoughts on my above question?

Some of you are way way way to trade happy and so is the advice your getting. Fancy trading out premiums for premiums after only 2 weeks with rookies playing everywhere. Think big picture, not rd 3. ;)

I agree but there are a couple of trades that a team must do to get the team right for the rest of the year... one of the them are bringing in Barlow..

I would get Malceski if I was you. He will rise 80 odd thousand and is averaging 121.

I don't have enough $ for Tippett to Brown straight swap so I'd have to waste another trade. I'm not sure if it's worth it this early on. I'm kinda thinking now I might play it safe and wait.

If I was going to do just one trade it would be Hille > Seaby

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Seriously considering:

OUT: Tippett, Hall
IN: Brown, Peterson

That would mean starting one of Peterson, Gumbleton or Hitchcock on the field instead of Hall, but it frees up a lot of cash and gives me a kid with a break even of -98 to upgrade in future weeks.

Completely agree with you :thumbsu:

I also agree to a point, but I think prior to the lockout before round three is like a stock exchange. I'm happy to make two trades now, if it means getting rid of a player who's about to drop 100k and doesn't show any signs of improving. Why hang on to Dean Cox, when he looks likely to drop 250k over the next month, when I can trade him for Kreuzer/Jamar/Naitanui/Seaby and make a shirtload of money instead? To keep him would be idiotic. It is important to hold on to trades, but I think if you don't even entertain the thought in the week leading up to round three, you're doing yourself a disservice.

Trading in Barlow is a must and a worthwhile trade. The point is at this stage of the year your rookies are more important than your premiums so to speak. Sideways trades of premium to premium is premature (2 weeks!!), anything could happen and the fact they are fit makes it seem unneccessary (Clark, Vince etc). *(not sure on Tippett, don't have, not interested.:p) All premiums fluctuate throughout the year, some midfielders will drop to 400's and finish in the 600's, over the season they average 100+. The idea is to end up with as many premiums as possible, so leave the playing premiums and fix the rest of your team first. If you think Clark will ave 50 for the entire season trade him out, but ask yourself why you put him in at 500K 2 weeks ago.

Does anybody agree with T.Kennelly OUT for N.Malceski IN. I had Mal last year and he hurt, but this year he seems the bomb. Should i jump on or not. Although the first 2 round scores seem to point towards Mal ALOT, i still cant help but think its a sideways trade.
My current backs are Goddard, Gilbee, Hodge, Maguire, Kennelly, Hunt, Ladson, Webberley, Sheppard.......ideas?

Hmmm. Anyone think Trading Goodwin out for Malceski is a good move? Goody is playing this week but is under an injury cloud. Malceski I reckon will average 90's for the year, Goody maybe low 100's. The price difference is immense though and I'd be getting an extra 280k. It's a massive risk cause I'm assuming Malceski will be scoring consistently as he has so far and there's nothing wrong with Goody's scores so far (2 90 scores in round 1&2). Dunno if I should do it, it's now or never I reckon because Malceski will rise and rise in price. Dunno what I'd do with the cash though, probably will trade Armitage out for Judd (Armitage scored well though with a 112 last week).

I wouldn't do it. I've got Kennelly and Hunt as well and I don't think I'd consider trading them 2 for Mal. I'd only consider trading a premium for him, to free up some cash.

If you expect Goodwin to score 100+ for the rest of the year, do not trade him. Consistent 100+ point scorers are what you're looking for. If this means you can't bring Mal into your side, so be it.

Nobody here trade in Malceski for anyone!! Not for Goodwin nor Kennelly...It is a silly sideways trade that you will regret later on!
I'm tempted to but i'm holding off. Don't think Kennelly will average that much less.

Any last minute thoughts on who to trade out of Tippett and Hall? Thanks

Do you guys think its really worth going sideways from Tippet to Krooze? my ruck are Tippet and NicNat i have a few options

a) Keep Tippet and hope he comes good
b) Tippet to Krooze its a sideways trade and i dont think krooze can maintain his scores (this is a sort of panic trade for me)
c) J.Hunt out Silvangi in the tippet out and sandilands in (dont really want to waste 2 trades so early and i wil lose out on Hunts rise and will also have to play Nason or Silvagni on field this week as i have H.Shaw out injured)
d) Tippet to Seaby (same as option b in my view)

Would love some input guys.

All done- jumping on/off the bandwagons. Better be right.
Walker-> Peterson, giving me cash to go
Hall-> Brown.

Now fairly happy with my team (even with the starting rookies).

Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Hooker, Malceski, Silvagni, Maguire (Hurn, Nason)
Ablett, Dal Santo, Pendlebury, Cooney, Martin, Barlow (Bastinac, Kayler-Thompson)
Sandilands, White (Roughead, Stanley)
Riewoldt, Brown, RoK, Waite, Warren, Medhurst, Peterson (Rockliff, Roberts)

Now to sit tight for a few weeks unless there's an easy way to upgrade White.

Good luck all, and Go Saints!

Any last minute thoughts on who to trade out of Tippett and Hall? Thanks

i did tippet to brown, coz i left myself with 500k at the start of the year for this exact reason. Id go tippet, yeah i know hall did shit against richmond so thats pretty bad, but i guess i fell like the black eyed peas....'Ive got a feelin'.....

Well I have both Goodwin and Bock in the backline.

I traded Bock for Malceski and upgraded Hall to Brown with 100k left over to upgrade my mids when needed. I feel this is a good trade and hopefully Malceski can average 90+ each week.
