This is where we have got to in our country. Parliament is the supreme test of Government and whether or not people actually watch Question time or any of the Parliamentary procedures on the telli, it is the role of the fourth estate to report what happens in our houses of Parliament.

We are not a free country anymore because the press is now overtly partizan and the only news outlet with a charter of independence, the ABC, has been gutted and one of the first productions to get the chop was the brilliant Order In The House.

The Morrison Government has now taken to handing tax payer dollars to Murdoch's Sky/Fox.

I'm borrowing this from BERNARD KEANE and GLENN DYER but it goes straight to the heart of the matter: "only when people are no longer concerned about the risk of dying, or infecting a loved one, will they lose their caution and start spending."

The moron Morrison and the bean counters just don't get it whilst the rest of us, the "little" people, get it absof****nglutely!

Earlier this afternoon, our deputy chief medical officer Nick Coatsworth offered some mental health tips to any Australians – especially Victorians – who are finding their current situation difficult.

"Set yourself achievable goals. One of the simplest things you can do in the morning, and this was said to me once a leadership seminar by someone who is a very good leader is make your bed," Dr Coatsworth told reporters during a national COVID-19 update.

I know from comparing notes with other members of a support group back when I was Carer for Mum that
- these fees can make a massive difference in the actual support available to the client, depending upon, eg, whether the provider is a fully committed charity, a "not for profit" which recoups some or all of its costs from the package, or a private company in it for the bucks, and
- many of the Carers (eg 80-year-old spouses) lack the physical or mental capacity, and/or access to support, to do anything about it - or even to know that they can do something about it, eg changing providers, or mixing/matching different providers for different services.

Gee, is that all he offered those who were finding life hard? Bugger me, he probably got that from a leadership seminar run by Brian Houston.

One of the things that is sadly being overlooked in this whole sorry saga is the effect that rhetoric is having on human beings. On the one hand we have Andrews telling people that for their and their loved ones health and welfare, they must put up with lockdowns and on the other hand, we have the rabid right wing capitalist pigs headed by our Prime Minister telling people that we must get back to opening things up for the economy's sake.

These messages have the effect of making some fear that they will succumb to this virus and will die, others that there is no end in sight and it makes them feel helpless, others feeling anxious about their livelihoods due to Morrison's shrill rantings on how lockdowns are "killing" Australians and just as alarming, if not more so, children feeling scared witless about whether or not mummy and daddy, grandpa and grandma are going to die.

Morrison is a creep of the highest order and the nastiest piece of work that's ever been Prime Minister of this nation bar none. The "National Cabinet" is a total farce and has been so from the beginning and his "we're all in this together" sentiment, is as worthless as **** on a bull. Instead of allaying the fears of the citizens, he is champing at the bit to let her rip as he has wanted to do right from the beginning of this catastrophe.

Absolutely shocking. Just watch the rabid right wing media attack the ABC for this instead of looking into the rort.

The ABC doing what all the other so called "news media" turn a blind eye to.

The filth of the Liberal National Party has no boundaries but whereas once they at least tried to hide things, now they jus don't give a shit because who's going to expose them? Costello? Murdoch? These organisations don't even report what's going on in our Parliament!

how we got here is irrelevant for how we get out of it

killing dan andrews wont mean we can return to work any quicker. we return when its safe, and that means getting numbers down as much as possible

people pushing for return to work are doing it because they are happy to see more victorian deaths as long as their profits return.
