Just said on ABC News that there can no longer be an enquiry into who donated the money to Porter as he is no longer a minister.

How convenient!

Worst government we have ever had. Full of scum.

LOLZ.

And the identity of this mysterious donor (or donors) who had a spare $1m lying around to fund his former Attorney General's personal legal expenses (and why they felt compelled to do so) cannot be disclosed (publicly) either.

Very convenient. And quite wrong on any reasonable standard of public accountability.

It should be obvious to all that the gross impropriety of accepting such an anonymous private donation (s) while a serving Minister of the Crown does not go away just because the recipient has now been forced to resign from the Ministry, does it?

the sad thing is I predict that the lesson that the politicians will take is "do not declare it and hope not to get caught"

Worst government we have ever had. Full of scum.

And the tragic thing is that, in my observation, every time we have a government whose actions lower the bar of personal accountability and Ministerial accountability, it becomes the new 'standard' by which future governments live by.

What needs to happen and what will happen are unfortunately two very different things.

Porter needs to be sacked/removed/quit and there needs to be an ICAC investigation (oh wait we don't have one of those). So instead he will stay and nothing will come of it.
Called it on Thursday. What a disgraceful government we have, utterly pathetic.

The Liberals' tale of being good economic manners is in tatters.

We're going to build nuclear powered subs here too..will it secure seats? Who knows, its tricky issue when it comes to "nuclear."
indeed, also, when are we making those subs? Where?
oh, whats the procurement process?
They, made it sound like we were purchasing, directly from US?

Who knows, cause eh, they gave us smoke and mirrors and no detail.
Twits.

Added to the list of the multi-billion dollar shredding schemes, alongside NBN and JobKeeper rorts.

There's a pitiful amount of scrutiny on this level of spending. Ministers and compliant media can get the wider electorate more worked up over dole bludgers costing a few million, but barely a peep about these.

That and the French suck at manufacturing
Itemised invoices be like:

"Engineering specifications to ISO 9001 standard; Wine and cheese ............ $348,000,000"
