A few out = lack of depth at the Club, so how many actually are, out have been told about 6 or so that would be walk up starts into the ones and what attitude will the boys have who get dropped back to the winless twos.
Every side always has players out every week so don't use that old saying
where is mernda and how does one get there? Why would anyone go there?
A good win for the STARS whilst still missing 5-6 players from the side and having at least 4 more players in the Reserves who could go up to the Seniors and be in the best. 13 goals and 24 behinds needs to be improved on and has already cost them wins.
9.16 against North Heidelberg and kicked 1 goal 5 behinds in the final quarter against Hurstbridge to lose by 7 points.

What did Whittlesea Win by?
Doggies were 6 goals up before the stars kicked 2 in junk time to say poor kicking cost them the game is a stretch TA, of the 16 points i think you will find about 8 were rushed so also a little misleading. Similar to yesterday doggies lead by 40 with 2 minute to go, the eagles kicked 3 when it was over,Dogs ticking along nicely Big Florance & Connel to slip back in. Masive game this week Creek V Eagles, my early tip Creek.. To tough!
North Heidelberg are a quality side, STARS weren't at their best on the day and I'd really thought they would get up in the last quarter, but started slowly, perhaps NH had a lot to do with that. I think what we can agree on, come finals, if NH, DC, Whitt and STARS are there, any side can win on the day, with DC already beating NH, NH beating STARS, STARS beating DC and NH beating Whitt.
Fair call TA, all 4 sides have have every reason to think they can win it this year which is great for the division. DT kicked a lazy 12 in 2s on the weekend if you can keep him settled could be a very handy inclusion.

i thought the weekends round was a bit of a no brainer!! but huh go figure, personally and i will quantify this by saying i havent seen whittlesea, yet i think nth are the side to beat but more than happy to stand corrected

A massive game this weekend IMO is the hurstbridge v Mernda game and should probably be the match of the day. Couldn't make it down to watch Mernda at Preston on the weekend but heard from many that they got a touch up in all departments. Hurstbridge beat the stars in round 1 so it should be a great game. What are your thoughts??

Should decided who is the smokey to challenge for top 4. Morang & Lalor look gone. Mernda have been interesting and have been competitive almost every game, where as Hurstbridge have struggled away from home (flooged both times). Tipping Mernda on their dunga of a ground.
Anything to report railz? Did the Hillbillys sook & cry this time or just give Deano up for contact in marking contest.. Which cost him 4, not sure who is the bigger joke WFC or the NFL.

after watching the video of the marking contest in question all i have to say is J Paige is a weak jib and he knew that it was gunna be a tough day at the office so off he went. Footy is F**ked if that was a 4 week offence or are the NFL out to finish North.
Nothing to do with Whittlesea having a "sook and cry". We are not sure why the incident was referred to the Match Review Panel.
Why does getting smacked in the side of the head mean Page is a "weak jib"?
FYI - J Page was concussed as a result of the incident, only played a further 3 or 4 minutes of the game in the 3rd qtr, and will miss this week due to concussion.
Come on JC if you think it was not whittlesea who put the complaint in your in denial. 4 weeks for contact in marking contest that the umpire did not see fit to even pay a free kick, add to that Blake Holmes gets 2 weeks for talking back, it is a joke. How Kevin Smith has a job is beyond me.

That can't be the incident. earlier post said he went off in 3rd qtr , had to be another incident. Can someone confirm when it happened?

I did not see the incident, nor did I go to the game, but I hope this is an indication that finally NFL will take incidents more seriously. Seen too many players get away with too much.
That was the incident, was no more then 5 meters away from me. Contact was heavy but purely accidental. Camera didnt show dean apologiesing then helping Paige up. This was just a nfl square up for an incident in round 1. Paige played out the first half and some of the second.

North way to strong for Lalor, remember those famous games when they were powerhouses in D1, my how they have fallen , especially Lalor.
Mernda with 4 big ins,( not sure about Mr O'Reilly when the pressure is on), will absolutely smash Hurstbridge and show why they will finish top 2.
Fitzroy Stars on the big wind swept Morang oval a little to good for the Lions
Whittlesea will boune back this week and knock over Creek in waht will be a rip snorted of a game.

Lalor Vs North Heidelberg - North should win here.
Mernda Vs Hurstbridge - will be interesting to see where Hurstbridge are - we played them in a praccy match last year and won by 15 goals but I think Hurstbridge took it a bit easy that day. Still think we should win at home.
South Morang Vs Fitzroy Stars - Stars were terrific last week and should win easily.
Whittlesea Vs Diamond Creek - backing Whittlesea to bounce back.
