From the unbelievable but true department.
Was just over at Werribee Plaza, saw a couple of "loss prevention officers" turn over a druggy carrying a Coles bag. Made him empty everything out, picked it all up, sent him on his way while they carried the stuff back to Coles. Mall security came running up but it was all over, they said we got the stuff, let him go.
Two minutes later we're walking past a crowded homewares shop having a closing down sale, parked outside was a full shopping trolley with a handbag on top.
Bit of a lack of situational awareness in this day and age. I can remember people being told not to do that when it was common to leave your back door unlocked so unexpected visitors could come in and make a cup of tea and wait for you to come home.
