Katich probably thought his spot was safe until the end of the series, from previous examples of out of form players. It seems that the selectors have decided that enough is enough. It's not a huge shock but he's had plenty of chances. He'll look back and regret not making more of his opportunities.

His 99 in India may haunt him though.. :(

Good luck to Hodge.

Katich has been the most out of form player in the Australian team, he should never have felt safe

HOODGEYYY!! yeah. what a decision. katich is one of the worst test batsman to watch. Dont understand how he can make runs.

Hodgey will play behind clarke in the test casue clarke will bat there for the next 10 years. Hodhe and Clarke in the middle order is the best news ever. HOOODDGEYYY!!

Gilly has averaged 27 in the last 7 tests.
He is hopeless, We need Junior Murray.
And mcgrath is not doing enough, how many wickets did he take last test?
Dude you're obviously playing with the peeps on here, and the people who are taking you for real and calling you a fool are dumb idiots.

Junior Murray! I love the references man.

Keep the intentionally funny posts coming, the fact that some people can't see that amuses me more than anything.

Not untill White replaces Symonds ;) :p

Ha Ha Ha...

Good on the mighty Roy to get back into the test side...one of the most dangerous batters going. Yes, he can be erratic, which is not good in Tests, but he can and does tear the cover off the ball.

Show 'e what you have, Roy- a ton at Bellerive and a couple of wickets- not to mention dominating the fielding...

One request- stay off the ***** during the match

Had to love Baggygreens reporting of the test side

SYMONDS REPLACES KATICH

Hodge also included

Last time I checked Hodge replaced Katich and Symonds replaced Watson really

Yeah, but to use your favourite team, Hodge's batting be a snorefest, while Symonds willelectrify when he steps to the dish...Bothamesque or Freddy esque in his power (note I'm not comparing techniques)

Let Hodge rotate the strike to Roy so he can pound the pelota

Hodge doesnt put people to sleep, scores at about 70

I think people will enjoy Hodges score of 100 (150 balls) more than Symonds 10 (6)

If Roy makes more than 30 I will be shocked, not suited to Test cricket

As for Hodgey, if he survives untill the Boxing Day test, omg, it will be huge :thumbsu:

Can just imagine 100,000 people cheering wildly as Hodgey makes a century

If the unlikely happens, he'll take two days to do it....
so far this season....

102 runs on 240 balls
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Roy's 163 came on 183 balls
Excitement Machine
GO ROY!!!!!!

BTW, I'd guess 65 000 tops for the public holiday start to your test- assuming it doesn't rain (but it never rains there, does it?)

Hehe....yeah i noticed that.

Most of the support on this thread is more in favour of Hodge rather that Symo though.

One-eyed vic fans- what do you expect? Hodge may do well- but great to see Roy back

u seriously belong in a circus dude.

junior murray...hahahahah...he's now 38 years old and last played a test match in april 2002 and averaged 22 and you need him. things must be bad in the west indies if thats the case. :D

mcgrath not doing enough !! turn it up, its called having contributors man. he got 4 wickets for the match.....not too many bowlers average 4 wickets per test throughout their career, talk about being a tad harsh.
