Selecting a ruckman at pick 8

Your just all for pure mids and taking them high.

Correct. I want a pure midfielder that goes forward. Atley fits that bill. I hate HBF/midfielders early. Not to mention we already have too many on our list already. A midfielder will always influence a game more than a HBF'er, especially a goalkicking mid.

Heppell is a better version of Jacobs though.

AFL GF Replay starts at 4:00pm. So, unless they are going to cut it off halfway into the 2nd quarter, then the draft is starting at 7:00pm.

Please tell me its the good grand final. I really want to get that in 3d.

Hmm, well the HUN have their coverage starting at 6:30pm Melbourne time.

So it's any time between 6:30 and 7

Can anybody find written confirmation of the starting time?

Might stick with SEN I think, at least they won't miss much!

Coverage on Fox Sports 2 from 7pm - 8:30pm in Melbourne. This year they will have "red button" coverage which is every pick live without interruption aka no panel talking over 90% of the picks like last year. I believe they are still going ahead with the ******ed reverse order for the first round though.

I have some sort of plan...

Get up, feed my baby, go for a walk, do the washing...then put him to sleep.

4pm: Hair (probably get my hair re-dyed)
6pm: Get home
6:30: Baby wakes up, feed it.
7pm: Draft (fiance can look after the baby seeing as he does not really follow AFL)

It is even more stupid this year..my dead dog could tell you who are the top 3 picks! LMAO!

It's not so much about the first few picks for me. It's the suspense of seeing how the rest of the first falls as there are always bolters and sliders. If they really want to make the first round epic they should take a leaf out of the drafts the US sports do.

I only watch the NHL draft but they have the first round on a Friday night and spread the 30 picks over 3 hours. Each team goes up to the main stage and calls out their player and presents him with a jersey, highlights packages are shown and the panel of experts discuss him. So there's like 15 minutes between each pick. Then on the Saturday the 2nd round through the 7th is done normally and done in about 3 hours also.

Much more professional.

Well of course the AFL version would take half the time as there are less picks in each round. I do agree 3 hours for 30 picks is excessive - but it sure as hell beats having to watch the 26 picks in reverse order. Hopefully it's just the top 10 again though - been reading on the drafts bored that it could be either the top 10 or the entire first round.

Preferred the reverse top 10 last year because EFC's selection was read out first.
