So Jon Ralph and Gary Lyon are saying the MRO has to find Jerry's incident as "intentional" which is a one week suspension.

Now you know Christian is going to find that way - interstate teams always get the raw end of the stick.

"Careless" is what it should be graded. Berry has his neck and head being forcifully pushed down with all of Oliver's weight and Jerry is tryg to get him off, with his head turned away not even looking at Oliver and what looks like with his eyes closed. Not only that, it looks to me the moment Jerry realises he is touching Oliver's eye area, he lets go which is careless in my view.

This surely can't be graded intentional although given Christian never misses us, you know it will.

One of mine from earlier today:

“1986 Elimination Final
Fitzroy v Essendon

Out: Bernie Quinlan, Matt Rendell
In: Gary Keane, Leon Harris

ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE outs for the Lions when we played the reigning premiers in a 'cut throat' Elimination Final. Losing Quinlan AND Rendell was worse than what we face tonight. As it turned out, the conditions didn't favour the taller marking players, but more significantly, the whole team lifted and we won a famous victory. In years to come, I suspect those of us at the game tonight will be able to say, we were there when we beat Melbourne at the MCG in the 2022 Semi against all the odds.”

WHAT A GAME! Lions supporters were going nuts in the second half. The crowd willed the boys after to lift in that second half and the MIGHTY LIONS answered with some devastating football. When the siren went in the last, people were crying with joy and strangers were embracing! Tonight has gained automatic entry into my top ten games ever.

On the train heading home with the little KZs, a Melbourne supporter asked me who that big bloke we had in the ruck was. He was stunned that Fort had just beaten Gawn and Jackson almost single handedly.
Berry was massive tonight and Eric Hipwood has truly arrived as an elite forward. Credit to Harris Andrew’s and Daniel Rich on great defensive games. Both also made decisive forward moves when needed.

Next week, Fort stays.
Great call brother.

Such a weird game from McStay. His contest work was immense, but everything he did was ultimately meaningless because 9/10 times he would immediately kick it straight to a Melbourne defender standing by himself.

Kicked the sealer in the end so hats off regardless
Thought his second half was very good, first half dreadful. He was trying to bite off the lead up kick which we needed to do but missed, but then had the composure to absolutely nail one for Eric in the third quarter.

Was immense last week and still kicked 2 this week - going to be very sad when he goes :(

It was a team effort but our backline held up well tonight
Andrews has copped a bit from some fans lately but he was good tonight

Langdon covered 17.2 klm tonight but number 2 was Andrews with 15.2 klm McStay our next best at 5th with 14.9 klm
Andrew had 18 one %'s the next best was another Lion Jack Payne with 9. Best from Demons was Petty with 7
Andrews also had 12 disposals at 100%, 7 marks, 6 tackles, 4 intercepts, 4 score involvements, and 5 rebound 50's

Also he was mostly on Brown who did not register a score

Hopefully he is coming good at the pointy end of the competition

our last few MRP's we've presented a well thought out defense. Lets hope Berry is up for the task, as this will be nearly as hard as shutting down Oliver.

thats if he does get charged.

If Berry even gets MRO'd at all then we will not have hired a very good advocate if he gets a week.

Further to this, why dont these Vic muppets ever go this hard for suspensions for Collingwood, Richmond any other big Vic club?

Pisses me off to no end in a national comp that there bias is allowed to go unchecked.

All you fans that were there tonight.

We heard you across the country. You were the difference.
Thanks mate. We did our best. At the ground the Lions noise absolutely matched or bettered Melbourne. It was awesome.

Bez was brilliant.

Edit: i just got back from 10 years living overseas 2 weeks ago. Missed last week’s win as it my wedding anniversary. Awesome seeing all the Lions gear at the ground.

I have friend who is into Karate,he told me if you are struck in the wind pipe, that person may need resuscitation.
So Oliver, should not have been appyling pressure to Berry wind pipe!!!

I'm stoked for our Melbourne supporters, getting to see such a great win.

The noise and support that was coming through the TV was sickkkk.

You Melbourne lot have done it hard for a long time. Some of recent the MCG losses must have severe tested your lions faith.

Could not be happier for tonight. One of the best ever wins, and I'm glad it happened there for you guys.

Enjoy.

Your cheering (and booing of petty) was GABBA worthy.

That particular kick he put on Hipwoods's chest was in the middle of three Melbourne defenders and not one of them could get a fingernail on it.

Was truly a thing of beauty.

He got a couple of other ones wrong but when he gets them right they are ridiculously good.

It was the sort of kick we had to bite off to win. The turnovers in the first half didn't cost us a score from memory, but having the confidence to try again led to a crucial goal.
