WHAT A GAME! Lions supporters were going nuts in the second half. The crowd willed the boys to lift in that second half and the MIGHTY LIONS answered with some devastating football. When the siren went in the last, people were crying with joy and strangers were embracing! Tonight has gained automatic entry into my top ten games ever.

On the train heading home with the little KZs, a Melbourne supporter asked me who that big bloke we had in the ruck was. He was stunned that Fort had just beaten Gawn and Jackson almost single handedly.

I reckon Berry’s second half is the most complete performance by a lions player in the last 5-10 years.

Stopped Oliver and 22 possessions in a half. Could he be the bull in the middle we’ve been crying out for.

He honestly kind of was that for us in 2019-2020, but spent most of last year injured and this year was eased back into it on the wing.

I think the long stint out made people forget how good he is.

Andrews and Gardiner combo was unbelievable tonight. Best they've played in a really long time. Our defence was so scrappy as well, saved multiple goals which was the difference in the end.

Agreed. Fritsch got a few cheapies through Gardiner but I can’t fault him for much else, best game he’s played since going down at Metricon last year.

And did Harris even get beaten once? AA form Harris was back tonight.

We definately love the underdog status. So many players mentioning the doubters and press stories about hoodoos.

Awesome composure. For me the biggest improvement was the quick movements in traffic. We are used to Lachie managing the impossible but tonight the whole team was able to move the ball lightening fast, and connect with a team mate.

Also think the support for each other was there - during the season we have seen some players spraying each other. That was missing tonight - totally getting around each other, while the opposition were bitching at each other.

Recovery is so important this week with back to back travel. Someone mentioned they are using a charter flight - guess they are reducing the covid risk. Loved seeing families in the rooms, but also nervous. Put the rat tests away, no covid here.

I feel pretty stupid saying his best position is on the wing now. He was immense and his tank means he can just keep doing it.

Funnily enough both he and Dev benefited from swapping positions. Dev was much more impactful on the wing in the second half

Such a weird game from McStay. His contest work was immense, but everything he did was ultimately meaningless because 9/10 times he would immediately kick it straight to a Melbourne defender standing by himself.
