The Gilbee effect would be working wonders for the club - great investment even though it wouldn't be costing the club all that much. Well done Port Colts. Would Jase Perkins be one of those players? could build a team around a power forward in this comp

p.s. Great to have you posting again
What is Jase sick of winning premierships at Deer Park? How many has played in 3 or 4?

A ruckman coming across with Taylor and Sutcliffe as well from west meadows... Perkins deal is done and a 1 pointer as well along with Taylor and Sutcliffe. A couple more on the way as well.. port will be the big improver in 2019.
That is great for Port but where are they going to be in 10 years? South Districts playing 4th Division Ammos... Once upon a time South/Port region had footballers everywhere. Port is trying to compete against the soccer club and they are getting smashed. Football Vic needs to get some of those couple hundred of bureaucrats sitting on their asses to get out and start developing the game instead of leaving it to the same few volunteers they expect to do everything. The A league now has a Western Suburbs club, and soccer will just keep growing. Wake up AFL....

Division 1 WRFL club looking for a practice match (our ground unavailable) on the 23/3/2019, or maybe the week before. Seniors, Reserves and 18's.
DM me please

Port will be right in the middle of Australia’s largest urban renewal project so they should be just fine you would think.

South would have been plagued with problems from gentrification to ground relocation due to the Grand Prix but I agree with you about the AFL dropping the ball on development.

As I drive around the area I see plenty of kids playing basketball or kicking a soccer ball around but very rarely do I see kids kicking a footy.

My point exactly.

Another De La alumni set to join the Bloods in Sam Haslem...........

Wrong side of 30, hasn’t played for 2 years and by his own admission A grade ammos now well beyond him. Body shot to bits but was a decent player in his day and if they can get him on the park he will go ok.

Speaking of Mordy – because of the number of ex De La players now at the club I do keep an eye on them and hear the odd bit of news. I am told that last year’s B&F is travelling the globe in 2019. Big loss. Another Mordy stalwart turned his nose up at the $ offered and when offered more by a rival club jumped ship to Dingley. Another ex De La player (ruckmen) who got really badly injured mid-year has retired.

However word from people in the know is that those recruited should more than adequately cover the departures.

Mordy have recruited well for their superules team; think only 1 recruit has been under 30 years old and one is even 38.

Did he have any link to the club or was it purely $ ?

Considering he played with a few mates at SKEVS last season and knows a couple at City as well he's got links. Doubtful it would be for the $$$$, plus City have most of their players on reduced contracts this season. Great pick-up and good for the comp as well.

Played one games at Beaumaris in 2017 before his hammy gave way and about a quarter for SKOBs last year before the same thing happened. His body is shot and I would be amazed if he played much, if at all.
