Yep great win on the weekend.
Fair bit of talent sitting out of that HP side though.

Be interesting to know what HP think of the standard now. Better or worse than they expected I wonder?

Personal point of view, id say the top 3-4 teams are better than i thought they'd be!

The bottom teams are a bout what i expected.

I was widely criticized for an earlier post that said EH and Springy are both big chances to beat HP!

nah he was actually very quiet about it. put his hand up to go off at 3/4 time when he had 9 but the boys wanted him to get 10. 28 seconds into the last he got his 10th and then kicked his 11th from 50ish a few minutes later. went off after that. clearly a class above. some other notable names made returns in the 2's today so plenty to choose from come finals time

Speaking of SFNL admin failure yet again, surely this is the year that two teams go up and down from div 3, south yarra and hallam deserve the drop the and 2/3 of HP, SP & EH deserve to go up ala Doveton and dominate Div 2.. time shall tell whether the overpaid muppets up there actually do something right for once

I don’t think anyone would’ve predicted that Doveton would recruit as well as they have. Went and watched them a few weeks ago. Sheen is huge! Obviously having battle and the other doves guys helps a lot too

Lot of merit to this suggestion. You could make a case that 2-up, 2-down would be a good idea for all divs this year: divs 1, 2 and 3 have two sides well below the others, while Divs 2, 3 and 4 have two sides way clear on the top (though its not so clear cut in Div 3). The idea of re-writing the rules mid-season and changing them from year to year might be problems, though.

Spot on! That's been the biggest downfall of a few clubs in recent times. If i were a club and handling recruiting I'd be looking at 2 year agreements just to ensure stability.

I think what Guav is trying to say is HP won’t win the granny despite the cash you have thrown around compared to any other side in the div! Can you tell me what happened yesterday?

Yes i did watch the game and HP clearly not at full ratpower, but i think on the outside of the contest you have plenty of run and skill and best in the comp, however where the ball is won at the contest im not impressed at all and think come the GF you will lose

It was a very contested game, black rock dominated the ruck work and clearances however just didnt have the polish to put it on the scoreboard and HP made them pay for their turnovers

Full credit to Black Rock... they had a fair dinkum crack for four quarters and could of won it with a bit more polish.

HP wont win a final the way they are playing at the moment... hopefully just in a slump during winter and things turn around but nowhere near it now.
