Bolton has panels on Cerra and Saad, Will still have 3 years on a contract at the end of next year.

Jeremy Cameron was 27yo and a RFA when traded for 3x 1sts (sending 2 x 2nds back). Yes, Jezza is an absolute gun.

But the point is that Bolton is somewhere in between Cerra/Saad and Jezza, but is IN contract, so I think 2 mid firsts is fair in a historical context.

I think your general point about the "contracted player" cat and mouse game being bs is obviously correct. Once a team seriously comes to the negotiating table, there's a reason they're doing so. Put it like this: if Chad Warner requested a trade home today, Sydney would almost certainly laugh and throw said request in the bin. Because for them, unlike Richmond with Shai, they actually want to keep the player. Even if it's only for 1 year, even if it means getting less next year.

But regarding this, enough teams cut their nose to spite their face over the trade period out of intangible things like principle and respect that I think Richmond reject that offer. 10 and 18 has already been set by Freo as the floor, so removing 1 of those picks would be viewed legitimately as taking the piss.

Like Gold Coast with giving more than 6, Freo need to ask themselves, do Richmond walk away if we dont give 10 and 11? I dont think they do as everyone knows they are keen for picks and 10/18 isnt insulting. Freo are pretty weak on this stuff though so I can see us giving up 11.

Yeah man, Dorkers had me crashing out. Almost as bad as when my mate in 3rd grade said "I know you are, but what am I?"

Depends who blinks first. Both teams want the trade to happen. Doesn't help us that Gold Coast and West Coast are seemingly gonna accept getting Rheemed, but helps us that teams are seemingly more desperate to draft in the early teens this year than Jake Stringer (allegedly).
