What a load of bullsh*t. Lockett and Franklin are champions of the game and of their position. The fact that the club didn't win a flag does not diminish the success they had in their role. The coach is responsible for the success of the team and that means flags dimwit which seems to be lost on you. Ken Hinkley is the longest serving coach at a single club never to reach a grand final. That is a failure so go and have a cry on daddy's shoulder.
Ken has put Port in positions to contend multiple times during his time there and was unlucky to lose two preliminary finals by a kick.
Those games were decided by a coin flip and since Ken can't kick the ball for the players, he can't be blamed for those losses.

While Ken has been at Port they have significantly bridged the gap between themselves and the Crows.
Look at the differences between Port and the Crows when it comes to supporter base size, crowd numbers and membership figures compared to when Ken arrived at Port.

This Taper bell end does not post about anything but Ken Hinkley and Port. It's like he might have an agenda or something? It really isn't worth responding to.

I reckon it's Ken.

Ken isn't the reason for Duursma dropping that chest mark in the 2020 preliminary final.
In a game decided by a coin flip it's moments such as that which can determine whether a coach is deemed as a success or failure.
The 2018 grand final was decided by Dom Sheed kicking a miracle goal yet if he missed it the perception of Simpson or Buckley as coaches would be very different.

He was the reason why Wines and Rozee spent so long on the bench in the last quarter.
He was also the reason all of our repeat inside 50's in the last quarter went to Dixon in 3 on 1 contests.

I'd say in a close game, having your best players on the ground late is pretty important and is 100% the responsibility of the senior coach.

I agree. He's great. You take him.

Losers leave success to chance.

Winners make it happen.

Graham Cornes thinks Glenelg were unlucky in Grand Finals.

I rest my case.

Ken Hinkley has been a success at Port the same way Tony Lockett and Lance Franklin were a success for Sydney.
Sure the average fan would say Lockett and Franklin were failures at Sydney because the Swans didn't win any silverware while they were there but other KPIs such as marketing, crowds, memberships and fan engagement would suggest they were a success.
Its incredible how the man is such an absolute failure at his job that in order to defend him you have to bring up things he has had no part in whatsoever.

So feel free to have him, would you?

What's your opinion of Adam Simpson and Nathan Buckley as coaches?
Simpson is a premiership coach and Buckley is not because Dom Sheed kicked a miracle goal.
Would your opinion of them as coaches be different had Dom Sheed missed the goal leading to the result going the other way?

Ken inherited what was widely regarded as a very ordinary list and got Port to within a kick of a grand final in his second year.
He implemented an exciting gameplan and got the best out of what he had which led to thousands of people flocking to buy memberships and attend Port games.
Port have significantly bridged the gap between themselves and the Crows during Ken's tenure and he's definitely played a part in that.

When you remember how difficult it is for non Victorian clubs to win flags in the AFL, it's fair to say Ken has done a good job and his win percentage is no fluke.
Our players from the triple premiership era speak very highly of Ken as well.

Id rather bench mark us against Hardwick and Clarkson.

That is the level the club claims to strive for.

And when it matters, Ken is miles off.

When it matters...

Kane stated very confidently this morning on SEN this morning that Ken's extension will get done and that he has a verbal agreement.

Kane will then predict a 6th-10th placed finish for Port Adelaide in 2024 and we’ll wonder why on earth we still bother.
