I heard today that he actually hasnt been ratified by the Committee and maybe the current Pres has jumped the gun? Do you know if there is any truth to that? Danny O would be good for them as he has the experience.

if they retain the majority of the list, probably mid table. Won't challenge the likes of heatherton, oakleigh or the beena though. Caufield has had most of there list return from overseas too, so watch out for the bears

South Yarra will be more than competitve. I think they will win about 6-8 matches and finish about 7-8th on the ladder. Some of the bottom sides in Divvy 2 need a fair bit of work to do to be competitive with the top couple of teams but I think South Yarra will be ok.

don't think it will be that easy for the top 2 or 3. South Yarra, Caulfield, Murrumbeena, Heatherton, Oakleigh will be up there or there abouts.

I'm tipping at least 1 other team will challenge for the top 3...

but yeah it looks like Black Rock will be one of the main challengers after just the one season in Div 2. They've only lost 2 of their senior side from last year, and have recruited well.
At least 8 decent senior players already on board that i've heard about with a few "probables" liikely to sign after Christmas.

I hear they've been training 3 times a week for 5 weeks...anyone know what sort of numbers they've been getting?

What chance does Caulfield's Scott Oram have of playing in 2009? Saw in the paper today he had his throat slashed by random New Year's revellers and was 30secs away from death. Article mentioned possible nerve damage. I'm sure footy's the last thing from his mind right now, but does anyone know enough to know if he'll grace the fields in 09? It would be a crying shame if he was lost to the game over such a gutless and pathetic act.

Heard that Black Rock has signed up Kirkland and David Grose from Mordi. Grose will be assistant coach there.

Kirkland is a definite starter for Black Rock, and Grose is too apparently. Dave White is supposed to be playing there too, would be a very handy player if he doesn't try and get into a fight with someone each week. Not sure who else they have picked up but Grose and Kirkland should make a big impact for the Rockers.

Beacon you're pretty much spot on there by all reports - adding to the usual crap, I think a couple of assistants Martello has are sub-standard to say the least. There are a few more that are leaving too and with the loss of a quality reserves coach to local rival will hurt Mordi's chances for finals. And yes Azza isn't happy about Kirkland deciding to leave - leaves a big hole in the forward line for him.

Good luck to Rockers - esp Grosey and Kirkland this season, should be a good year for them.

Quality reserves coach? haven't heard too many say he was quality....
he's obviously doing plenty of chasing former players of his & the Heights must be handing out some cash. Heard that Troy Ogier has been lured from St Bedes & is training down there. Has also been on the phone to a couple of Edi Asp & Bonny boys trying to lure them.
