This is the first of a few examples to come of Trump giving idiots bad ideas.
Yes, idiocy. The worldwide outbreak of idiocy we are experiencing affects all groups, including the ruling classes.

I don't think President Yoon Suk Yeol can survive this, as it was completely unjustified. He is already a deeply unpopular leader. It's clearly related to his political problems and wife.

Got FA to do with Trump.
The US set the scene when they dropped their first puppet in after WW2.

The first five were all dictators or wannabe dictators, not elected in a free and fair election. They all deserved to get deposed, and those depositions are not comparable to yesterday's events because there was no attempt to overthrow a functioning democratic process.

The tweet also fails to mention that Kim Young-Sam also pardoned his two predecessors after a year.

Cool bananas, the rank and file sorted it out.

Video allegedly of the President of SK and the defence minister planning martial law.

Lucky they were as incompetent as they were stupid. The Interpreter has an interesting article looking at the Presidents powers and the military.

It actually has a lot to do with Trump. The world over we are seeing conservative leaders take a massive dump on accepted political conventions and expected norms. When the leader of the free world incites an insurrection, has all charges against him dropped, and gets reelected 4 years later Im pretty sure that emboldens conservatives everywhere to do whatever the hell they want. And they do.

And they all hide behind "if it is legal we can do it". And half the time it is not legal and they do it anyway - simply dismissing any opposition as fake news or some deep state conspiracy.

Democracy is collapsing all around us and popcorn sales are through the roof. Literally no one gives a ****.

So the president of Korea attempts a coup and it fails within hours. Lets see if Korea manages to impeach, bring to trial and jail him. Or if they follow the US, he will be president again in 4+ years.
