No surprises last week other than the Saints goalless to half time. The Heighters were missing a few so that win was even better than scores indicated. City are up against it to make finals having slipped from the 5 and will have plenty of pressure from Clayton and Dingley. Intriguing! The bottom 3 are also going to be flat out to avoid relegation. Results against each other will probably define who goes to Divvy 2. My tip? Mordialloc after oscillating in Divvy 1 for about 12 years.

This week's games

Highett are always honest but will not get near Chelsea Heights 10 goals
The Saints will have to improve to beat Dingley. Even at the farm the Dingoes by 8 goals
Heatherton are doing their level best to avoid relegation with Stafford and Chaffey inclusions but will get smacked by Clayton. The black and white battle could be closer than many think but Clayton have to win and draw a game clear of City as will Dingley. Clayton by 15 points.
Mordialloc's season isn't going to get any better this week or next game for that matter. Cheltenham with one leg in the air 12 goals
The game of the round is on Sunday at Hurlingham Park. Depending on who is available will probably determine the result. On form you would have to go with East Brighton but it will be close. The Vampires by 20 points

Maybe expect 3 on the run home 9 wins isn't a guarantee. Tipping 11 will get you there but you'll need to cause some boilovers

Had a look at the Saints and the Dingoes on Saturday at the Farm. The Saints are a shadow of their former selves and will not make finals this year. Have September off boys. Dingley were better but may struggle to make the 5 as well. Might come down to the draw as to who makes it. Clayton and Dingley to fight it out. St.Pauls will be safe once players return from injury. The top 3 will stay the same although Cheltenham's destiny will be there for all to see over the next 3 weeks. Chelsea Heights and then East Brighton, depending on results there will show whether they're a serious contender or not

Last I heard he had moved in with Gardener in a Bungalow behind FG's place. Imagine the intelligent conversation around the kitchen table:)

FG, a lot of players to return this week.

FG, a lot of players to return this week.

Give them another week Owen, they won't be required.

Tips this week

East Brighton in a stroll 100 points +
Chelsea Heights to win a close one but beware of Chelt if they get up, they could be serious contenders Heighters by 18 points
St. Pauls to smash Heatherton 70 points
Clayton tend to play to the crowd at home and will give City notice that they can book their end of season trip early Clayton by 30 points +
Dingley at home should account for Highett. The Bulldogs are honest and will give a good account of themselves. Dingoes by 25 points.

These results would see City 2 games out with 6 to go. Cannot make it unless they win Saturday!

Heatherton have improved this season but we also need to start getting match fitness into our players running into the pointy end of the year!

Few big games this week namely Clayton vs City & Heights vs Chelt

CH by under a kick in match of the round - 3 points
St Pauls to have a good win - 7 goals
its tough to beat clayton at home but city will just get there - 2 goals
dingoes will have a good win - 6 goals

also is it true that Steve Barnes has resigned from the SFL??? massive loss if he has been a great servant for the comp

Yes Barnesy has quit to become President of Carrum Downs FC a new senior club in an already overcrowded area. Pretty small area for Chelsea, Chelsea Heights, Edi Aths, Skye, Mordialloc, Parkdale, Frankston, Frankston Bombers and the Pines. Not sure of the motivation other than close to home. At least we may not hear any more about 2 up 2 down but I agree it will leave a hole at board level
