Does anyone know the logic behind Cerberus's decision to ditch their reserves in favour of entering a side in the thirds competition?

If it's because they think their non-senior players would struggle then I think they are mistaken. Cheltenham, Heighett and Chelsea Heights thirds teams will be better than half the div 3 reserves sides.

I can only think it's some kind of logistical issue, perhaps with the navy base oval not being available for the timing of reserve games, which would explain my the majority of their thirds games are away.

My understanding is that the cerberus reserves from the last few years are mainly made up of blokes who have rugby/soccer back grounds and have never played football before. This they believe is leading to alot of injuries especially knock outs as they aren't used to be hit from any angle. So the reasoning is that the thirds is a weaker comp, thus being a bit easier for these blokes to get used to football. As i said this is just second hand info from a reliable source.
