It’s an interesting graph but we don’t seem to be following these trends as far as guernsey sponsors go, apart from the disappearance of alcohol sponsors of course.

Auto companies have been and continue to be well represented (Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Hyundai, Jeep, Mercedes Commercial) and retail sponsors are fairly prolific too (Mission, HJs, OAK, Dare, Amart next year).

No one has had a gambling sponsor but they’ve been represented in the PL for almost 20 years according to the graph. Hopefully that remains the case.

True but as the economy changes, so do good and services sold and those that look for increased marketing channels.

The EPL is a bigger comp compared to AFL, but so is the spread of sponsorships. Look at the top 5 or 6 sponsorship deals, and they are from traditional industries.

Gambling industry has seen an opportunity in the bottom 2/3rds because these clubs sponsorships are cheaper. If the Vic government didnt break the pokie duopoly in 2010 and let the clubs buy hundreds of machines in 2010 I reckon gambling companies would be on more jumpers in the AFL. They are there at the 2nd and 3rd level sponsors.

Australia has more gaming/poker machines than the Uk. Last figures from 2016 was 197k vs 167k

Wait, so Everton don't have Chang on the shirt anymore?

Liverpool aren't Carlsberg?

No Liverpool has been Standard Chartered for ages.

Speaking of which, how GOAT would our 150 year anniversary Prison Bars be with them on the guernsey? Dynasty-era feels.

That's pretty bloody awful, really.
Reflects what blokes spend their money on.

With the Premier League it’s the world wide trend. Most of the gambling company sponsors don’t even trade in the UK, it’s all Asian sponsorship for Asian gambling firms for the TV ausdience.

Seeing as we are talking EPL I will put this in here and it explains how EPL split their TV monies into 5 components.

1st Merit Money - depends where you finish in the league £1,931,268 per spot starting at 20th

2nd Facility Fees - depends on how many times your game is shown on TV. Anyone less than 10 times gets a base fee of £12,312,666 as does those who shown 10 times. For every game over 10 you get an extra £1,129,879.

3 Domestic TV - equal share per club

4 International TV - equal share per club

5 Central commercial - Barclay sponshorship monies, licensing rights income and other commercial income that head office collects is equally distributed.

I reckon having it on the back of our away jumper would be alright too.

Don't tell me Fages messed it up for us...
He’s been far too busy messing things up for himself. No, I was just throwing my voice, buying time, pretending to be on my phone making a Very Important Call, in a word: proFaganda making.
