Hmm, I wonder why our club is finding it harder than it should be to find sponsorship.

cos we are from South Australia. do you really think Impey getting drunk and hitting a few parked cars compares to what Didak and Shaw got up to back in the day? i don't think their fans were bringing it up 2 years later as an excuse, in fact they were celebrating a flag by then. obviously the club have an ordinary culture at the minute or those incidences wouldn't happen, or they wouldn't be considered so important because we know things were going right on-field

Big clubs in Victoria are protected so they stay big, it's almost like they could get away with a russian like systematic doping regime that would terminate any club not in that group.

Any chance the fact we haven’t released our 2019 guernseys yet is because we’re waiting for the senior players to come back and model them with a new multinational corporate behemoth sponsor’s logos at simultaneous launches at the Bund, Sydney Opera House, MCG and Alberton Lawn Bowls Club?

Serious deja vu.

Or in two weeks?

I live in hope.

There’s quite a bit of new gear on the Port Store online, mainly the training stuff that we’ve already seen from Pete’s photos plus a couple of other items. Everything remains Oak Plus branded only.

I have to say I’m pretty surprised that we still don’t seem to have another Joint Major locked in after having an extra year to work on it. I thought we’d definitely have someone sewn up by now and our inability to close the sale (any sale) here reflects poorly on those in charge. Perhaps change is needed.

OK so heard another sponsor rumor today! This time possibly a global cruise company that does alot of business out of china as a potential sponsor. But im getting sick of all these alleged sponsor stories which have been dragging on for a year. Give us something official ports you have had enough time damit

P&O?
Port and Orient!

Just kidding - think i will let that rumour "sail" through to the keeper.
Sounds like a load of bull "ship" to me.
Hopefully we "sea" something for our efforts soon though.

When do the financials come out for the 2018 season RussellEbertHandball?
You're not going to find sponsorship figures in what the club give us or even their report to ASIC.

The club release minimal info at the AGM in early February, they only give you the basic Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement package. No Notes to the Accounts with breakdowns.

The last couple of years I have got the full financial statements with notes and breakdowns from ASIC, which is BS that a club member has to pay for that to get a fuller picture of what has happened.

Even then, the breakdown of items isn't as extensive as WCE and Freo who are the best at it - but Wookie gets them from ASIC and pays, then next best are Hawthorn and Collingwood and they are free on their website

No you will not find out the sponsorship figure from even the ASIC lodged accounts. The club only reports total revenue broken down by 1) Revenue from AFL, Match Day and Merchandise 2) Revenue from Football Operations 3) Licensed Venues and 4) Other Revenue.

The 2 WA teams financials have about 12 revenue items break down in their notes. They also have a similar extra break down of expenses. So I can get direct sponsorship revenue and even sponsorship related expenses from their accounts.

You don't get that specific item from Collingwood and Hawks one has a total corporate activities the other a total marketing revenue line respectively, in their notes to the accounts.

The Wookie has all the 2017 annual reports and a breakdown of revenue, expense and balance sheet items in the OP.

You will see that he has a Sponsorship and Marketing revenue list. Everyone except the WA clubs have lumped in more than just sponsorship revenue in their totals.

Port is the only club not listed and then in the following post I put up a chart that matched the Wookies list, but said it was sponsorship and fundraising and had WCE and Freo near the bottom like the Wookie's list. I got their financials and said you have to add up 3 items and not take 1 line like all other clubs do in their annual report, so I posted that info and WCE go to the top of the tree and Freo 7th.

I posted this article where Freo CEO Steve Rosich said - West Coast are the only club to generate higher membership and corporate revenue than Fremantle, while the club’s “net sponsorship return” was third in the competition behind only Sydney and Geelong, he said.

We wont know where we sit relative to others as the club wont release that type of detailed info.

It might change if we ever become a financial powerhouse and Koch and future chairmen want to shout it to the world.

China... The Chinese Government will be our major sponsor with a $100m over 10yrs deal on the proviso we play 2 games in China a year and we get a Chinese Australian to buy all the properties and businesses in Australia on behalf of the Chinese Government. The second part is done, but now the AFL are not wanting to give us the 2 games so that is holding things up.
