I reckon Ross will show more commitment to Schoenmaker than Bonner this year if Arie can get his running up to AFL level.

Quoting out of context is such fun....
Yeah Sharman could have easily been in.Sharman stiff.
I personally think he takes Membrey’s spot for good. Hard to look past his finals performance, and there is more upside to come.
Yep. Best way to have the strongest team possible is to play players in the position they are elite at.I still think Sincs is little more than a slightly above average mid while he’s an A grade halfback. Personally I hope we leave him there.
It’s a nicely balanced side, speed on every line…only issue is who gives Marshall a chop out in the ruck?Sharman stiff.

The list isn’t quite where SOS and the boss would like it but if Caminiti can make a good fist of it and Hotton & Keeler come on, we’re not far off!FB: Stocker Howard Wilkie
HB: Sinclair Battle Wanganeen-Milera
C: Hill Windhager Wood
HF: Owens Caminiti Philipou
FF: Higgins King Sharman
R: Marshall Steele Crouch
I/C: Wilson Dow Henry Butler (Clark - Sub)
Emg: Webster Ross Membrey Cordy
I think where possible we need to be building for the future over the short term.
In the second half of the year Sharmam showed he needs be a starting player, still think he could end up a Gunston type player with King and Caminiti being the main targets.
Membrey has been a loyal soldier for a long time, but even before his personal issues came to light I don't think he's done enough in recent years to be a walk up start over two really promising young players.
Think we'd do well to make finals again as I'm expecting Gold Coast, Doggies and Sydney in particular to improve whereas I don't see any team in the comp getting significantly worse.
But the important thing is we have the best young core we've had in 20 years. If they keep developing and we add another couple prospects we could be on the way to a really competitive list. Guys like Owens and Philipou have the potential to be top 10 players in the league and NWM, Windhager and Wilson all seem likely to get the absolute most out of their considerable talent. Think we're on for another year of exploration but at least we know under Ross that there will still be an expectation of results.
If he doesn’t perform why would we get good capital ?Schoenmaker gives me *Steven May vibes. Confident, Big and aggressive with a thumping boot. He is 4cm taller than may.
If Hammer made a good back man. That would make an aggressive fb/chb combo.
As Stavros mentioned, battle could be on the chopping block if he doesn’t perform/we get good capital.
I am all for ruthless decisions if it gets us closer to a flag. You kind of get the feeling if a senior player isn’t performing they are going to get replaced by a rookie who can be molded easier to the way we want to play.

Thats a lot of pressure for the kids. The list isn’t quite where SOS and the boss would like it but if Caminiti can make a good fist of it and Hotton & Keeler come on, we’re not far off!
No directed solely at yourself, but this thread is suffering from a very strong degree of overconfidence in our 1st and 2nd year draftees.*If the club don’t see him as a player who will help us get to a flag or a rookie can fill his position the club may look to trade him off to bring in capital to make some thing happen.
The pick can bundled together with other picks to move you further up the draft order or used in a package to get in a player*

Couldn’t agree moreThink you're seriously underrating Battle and overrating the other two, one of which has never played a game and slid to 62 in the draft for Steven May vs Campbell Brown vibes. Also Caminiti whilst competitive and promising, could have also been described as green and floundering up forward at times. Battle is a seasoned KP player in his peak, highly professional and motivated, just the sort of bloke you want towing along these kids. At this point I find it hard to see a reason why they'd not want him in the blueprint.
Club should move on anyone who wants more then they are worthI am very optimistic about our youngsters which I don’t think unreasonable as we have a elite coaching panel mentoring and developing them.
After half time of the freo game in round one. I watched on for the rest of the season with trust that the boys will give effort and compete. Our young players were the ones who stood up for their team mates when push came to shove.
Aside from the Adelaide game they did just that.
I don’t underrate Battle. I think he is a great player and mentioned him as some one who stood out in my last training report.
I was just mentioning if it doesn’t work out/him wanting more than he is worth. I can see the club being ruthless.

I was tempted to sneak Keeler into the FP / bench to give Marshall the chop out when needed. Hopefully we see him play sometime this year. It’s a nicely balanced side, speed on every line…only issue is who gives Marshall a chop out in the ruck?
I had the same dilemma when picking a side!
That's not even close to what you said, try again if you want too*If the club don’t see him as a player who will help us get to a flag or a rookie can fill his position the club may look to trade him off to bring in capital to make some thing happen.

You said if he doesn't perform we get good value - Nope we we get bugger all for him and if he isn't playing in the ones because of a rookie or another player taking his spot we still get bugger all for him
