He’s done a job on Cripps virtually every time we’ve played Carl in the last couple of years.
Last time Cripps was fit and firing was 2019. He shredded us. Pendles was one of the casualties. Wills the other. Hopefully Grundy follows Cripps lead and regains 2019 mojo. I think they were the best two players in the league that year.

Sorry well left but the way you quoted my post means I can’t include it.

What I’ve seen over the preseason showed Macrae and McInnes’s form to be behind the kids you want them to replace. That to me says you want them on perceived potential. I’d rather reward form so happy to go with the kids included.

Was about to write the same thing. Cripps has been a mere shadow of himself the last couple of years.

Pendlebury tagged Cripps in Round 3 2018.

I was a bit shocked to see Bianco on a flank up forward. He is an intelligent footballer but lacks pace and size and has never seemed to be a crumber who can snag a couple. But they must see something in him.

You see ‘vanilla’, they see ‘neopolitan’
They like him and are just trying to get games into him ahead of Pendles retiring. Long term he’s best suited* to the role Pendles will play this year and I suspect they want to get him to 40 games before he moves there.

*by best suited that’s the role he’s making it in if he does. I think there’s something there, but he’s woeful as a forward and will turn out worse than Cal Brown the forward.

People wanting kids to play. I mean I count quaynor, daicos, Henry, ginni, mcreery, bianco, then there’s barely 50 gamers, lipinski, j daicos. Dean and Kreuger would have played if not injured. And t brown on bench.

Not sure how many more could play tbh.

McRae and reef haven’t earned their spots yet and from all reports lack tanks for seniors. poulter needs more VfL time but I’m sure his time will come. Aside from those 3, most are playing

No Wilbur, Roughy, Maynard or Kreuger...IMO we might struggle a little but I just want to see 4 quarters of the game style we witnessed in the preseason, contested, attacking, skillful footy.... Can't wait!

9 players with 50 games or less experience are named in the team tomorrow.

John Noble = 44 games
Jack Madgen = 40 games
Isaac Quaynor = 35 games
Tyler Brown = 16 games
Beau McCreery = 13 games
Trent Bianco = 12 games
Oliver Henry = 10 games
Jack Ginnivan = 5 games
Nick Daicos = 0 games

I am looking forward to that young go-getter named Jack Madgen taking the next step in his budding career.

Never use a number you can’t say.

Where did I say he couldn’t play as a pressure forward? Merely asked when he’d developed that string to his bow. Happy for you to point out anywhere where it’s been highlighted as a role he can fulfill.
check your response again, you said exactly that. i didn't say that it's been highlighted anywhere, I said how do you know he can't play pressure forward. If you keep making outlandish statements, back them up.

Don’t know how I stuffed that up.

Yep it’s a little on potential and what they’ve done over preseason. I get that we need to see some form before selection. That said, I don’t think Bianco has shown anything more than Macrae so far as an example. Bianco has certainly been given more opportunity.

As I said I can see why we’ve started out this way. I guess it’s my hope that the two mentioned, and Poulter for that matter, can put some pressure on.
