St Kilda v Richmond

Nice armchair ride these top of the ladder teams get. Very soft free kicks and none paid to us. 13-6. Saw it last night in Hawthorn vs West Coast too.

Umpires were probably told to ensure Saints get to round 14 undefeated for the extra revenue.

You really think we need the umpires on our side to help us beat Richmond?

We've done fine without them the past 5 or so years. :D

Tigers kids came out with their tails up and played their guts out for most of the first quarter. Fantastic enthusiasm. The Saints absorbed the pressure and established our rolling zone defensive structures. Richmond's structures have broken down and their scoring dried up.

Its up to Rawlings now to sort them out. They have to increase the rate of interchange too because there are several tired looking Tigers out there.

Both teams have been going at this in a frenetic pace. Lets hope the more mature bodies with more preseasons under their belt brings the Saints the extra fitness to run out this match better.

35 pts to 15 at half time - despite the frenetic pace - it has been the defences of both teams who have been dominant.

Gilbert killing them, Dal Santo got on top of Rance in the second qtr and is killing them too. Goddard might be best so far.

Richmond - Sylvester been good, Jackson tagging Montagna, Hayes and Tuck head to head, (Jack) Riewoldt good early.

I didn't say that did I? I said the same rules haven't applied to both teams.

Well you were insinuating that the AFL told the umps to ensure we won today so that we could go through undefeated for next week.

Might be believable if we were playing another top 8 side but hardly necessary when we are playing a side in 14th place I would have thought.

Save that until the last quarter, if there's anything that umpires do it's squaring up in the last. So while you may feel aggrieved at this point in time would you be saying the same if Richmond got 10 nothing frees in the last to peg back within a few kicks?

Where was the free for Montagna dropping the ball? BT just commentated on it saying it's happened 3 or 4 times today for nothing. Goes down into Saints forward line bang paid for you guys. Please don't say this has been fair because that's bullshit. I don't care if we get thumped but geez, call it down the line.....

Umps have been crap but Richmond need to find their spirit again like the 1st qtr. This is just getting nasty. Reminds me of Hawthorn actually some of these turnovers! :(

Saints can't do a thing wrong.

I find it funny that someone is in here blaming umpires for a team not scoring for 2 quarters. Umps haven't been great, but come on lol.

He isn't blaming the umps. He is just pointing out that they havn't been consistant through the game.

It's honestly not that hard to understand his post.

FFS mate, can you read? We aren't blaming them for that. We just want it called down the line.

Refer to my post above if you wanna whinge about me complaining about the umpires. I said I don't care if we get thumped (which we are) I just want it called down the line. Montagna has blood coming from his head but isn't called off but Jackson is? I mean, this is a joke. What's the record free kick difference?

It's happened to every team at some point in the season, bitching about it for 2-3pages isn't going to change it. If I was a Richmond supporter I'd be worried about alot more things than the less than acceptable umpiring(yes I do agree it hasn't been great for your mob)

If foley attacked the game more, he would be a a-grade player. He has shredded the st.kilda players today with his skill and flare when he has taken the game on. It's a pity its only in little spurts.

Understand where you are coming from but considering we have had the ball for basically 2 quarters we are going to get more free kicks, hence why the difference would be higher, not that high though.

Compared to a saints/tigers game I saw way back, the tiges are doing ok - they didn't score a goal at all then.;)
