Im just a casual observer and enjoyer of the star wars films. Whenever someone says canon i think about those solid spherical projectiles without explosive charge that fire from old ships.

Disney really going well at turning Star Wars from huge phenomena with passionate and dedicated fandom in to just another thing.

Yep, massively poorly worded though. Hard to fathom how much he messed it up.

What he is saying isn't any different to how I viewed pre-Disney EU stuff. I never talked about Star Wars with a 'lol who cares mate it aint real' attitude however.

I wasn’t referring to what is and isn’t canon, I was referring to edgie’s post that Star Wars had lost its lustre. If fans that didn’t like TLJ had just shut the **** up, it would have moved quietly past mainstream fans until the next one. Some would have liked it, some may have not, but that would be the end of it. Instead, the worst kind of people come out, abuse directors, troll actors, scream and cry like it was the worst thing to grace this planet, make enough bullshit that it gets reported in mainstream media and a lot of people really start to look down on the movies and fandom as a whole. A lot of the lustre has gone because of fans acting like spoilt children.

Lucasfilm seem to forget it's the fans who made Star Wars they are the ones who buy the merch,toys watch the films in theatres multiple times when you start ignoring your core fans and calling them man babies etc,etc your product will fail.

You can voice your displeasure, you can stop watching if you want. But accusing Lucas of raping your childhood, bullying children, racially abusing actors, threatening directors; all of that’s not on. All these things make the news and help dictate mainstream opinion of Star Wars and its fandom and the product.

Lol Jack ALWAYS forgets that his boyfriend Rian Johnson deliberately provoked the fanbase before his movie was even released and fans were still quite optimistic.

Not sure how that's possibly when I pop down to the same rooms where they've been for 150 years trading under the same ABN and get a drink where they've been serving with the same grog license for over a hundred years but ok and see pictures of the same blokes who were running the club from the 80s in to the 2000s but ok.

But the Story Group was part of the process for TCW, Jedi Fallen Order, and other successful products.

Perhaps it's the fact JJ and RJ chose to ignore certain advice from the Story Group that's the issue?
