had to give this thread 100 posts - only seemed fair
TP does hate Freo though
i wonder why he dislikes them so damned much, almost an obsession

crows98 said:Ask your self if you like Port Adelaide, then ask that question to a west coast supporter about liking Fremantle
Grolm37 said:no doubt
but how many crows supporters (or port) put threads on the AFL board bagging Port (or the crows) and on such a constant basis

Tyson20 said:actually the choice is all ours moron! we dont get the trade we're after, Tyson doesnt go to Perth in 2004 via Adelaide. he either stays with Adelaide or he goes into the preseason draft...i believe this is now called the "Nick Stevens Rule"...
RIPPER_46 said:He would be behind Paul Johnson in the pecking order.
Johnson starred in his one game accumulating 1 handpass and giving away 1 freekick.
southjoy said:I think I made the point earlier that Adelaide do have a choice. BUT if you don't trade him to where he wants to go it makes it hard to resign him if he gets peed off, he then could go into the preseason draft and Adelaide get nada.
This is why clubs will do their best to make a trade happen. Also understand that trades occur between clubs, sometimes you don't get the best end of a deal but what goes around comes around. And this is why the WCE will probably get a good deal but will also work hard to not shaft the AFC.
This comment is not so much to you Tyson but more in using your comment to lead into mine.

Total Package said:See there is 1 big difference here. People WANT to come to WA to live.... Hence Waters loves it here. People CAN't WAIT to get out of Adelaide... hence Johnson leaving.

Adelaide don't trade with West Coast. Stinger goes into the pre-season draft.
Adelaide has pick 5, West Coast has pick 9 at best. Victorian clubs have picks 1-4.
Stinger will never get to Perth that way.
A deal will either be done or he will stay in Adelaide. Simple as that.

Total Package said:He wants to go back.... if Adelaide don't do a deal they will just have an unmotivated player living in a city he doesn't want to be in... in a team that will struggle near the bottom of the ladder.... and thats at best. At worst he will leave and go in the draft and Adelaide will get nothing for him... and Adelaide are in no position to be losing their so called best players for nothing. The Eagles? Well they don't need him... so they won't be giving up quality players to get him. There is only 2 possible losers in this and thats Stenglein or Adelaide.
funkyfreo said:Or West Coast who get a player they clearly don't need if you listen to the fans, instead of drafting young blood? If WCE don't need him then he can move back to Perth and be a plumber if he likes it so much.
Not bagging WCE - just saying that just because a player wants to move to a city doesn't mean the team they want to go to should do anything but trade for what they want.
Jabber said:Price himself out of the PS draft and play a year of WAFL - simple as that.
Total Package said:I think we have enough young blood. We have 15 players 23 years old and under in the team and the moment and a whole heap like Nicoski, Hansen, Jones, Johnson, Selwood etc who are all under 22 and can't get into the team or are injured. The only thing where we are lacking is maybe in the back half... having another medium-tall like a Adam Hunter to play on someone like an o'Loughlin.
but...whilst we are on the subject of midfields... there is one guy who might end up starting in the centre on Saturday night and ripping Sydney a new arseh*le.. and it will be a guy they have not have thought of... his name is not Judd, Kerr, Fletcher, Cousins, Embley or Braun. He is young and they have played him in the middle in spurts this year and he has looked absolute class.... but Worsfold has moved him back into the forward line so that he doesn't grab too many opposition coaches attention. An identical thing was done in 1990 with a certain Chris Lewis who was unleashed in the middle in the finals and dominated..... and yes this player does strike a resemblence Just remember where you heard it first
BigBoss said:Would Stenglein get a game in the Brisbane/Port/StKilda midfield?
Then WTF would West Coast want with him!?!
We already have Roan Jones and Kasey Green who are at his level.. and they play WAFL.
