Rucci reckons Stenglein is worth Waters + Eags 2nd round pick.

Rucci is a ******* comments following, I suspect ... ;)

No chance we'd give up a backman/forward like Hunter for a midfield tagger. We're weakening 1 of our weak positions and strengthening our strongest position. Makes no sense. Basically Adelaide are stuffed and they will be lucky to get a decent draftpick and a fringe player.

you reall have to get over the midfield tagger thing - he could be used as a midfielder in his own right - Adelaide just chose to use him as a tagger

Please explain why we are stuffed when Freo and West Coast are behind us in the pre-season draft.

Its either do a deal or he will sign with us for another year.

The histroy between the three clubs suggests that a sensible deal will be done. There is mutual respect between the clubs, so the negotiations will be done on an even basis.

What you or I think is fair is completely irrelevant to what will happen.

What goes around, comes around. Next year when Waters and Butler are out of contract, if either of them want to go home, then Adelaide would get whatever they deserved. Play hardball and who knows?

The Eagles have definitely got the advantage in this trade, but im confident the Eagles will do all they can to find a suitable and just trade for Stinger. We are not in the business of ripping off other clubs, but If you were dealing with say Essendon, Collingwood or Port you would have no hope in getting a respectable deal.

Adelaide midfielder Tyson Stenglein has declared his desire to come back to Perth and join the West Coast Eagles, but West Coast assistant Tony Micale said he wouldn't be trading either Beau Waters or Sam Butler to get him.

fool

mate you are quite the moron aren't you

my point which you missed completely is that the head coach has the final say so if JW wants Stinger then he will get him regardless of what the ASSISTANT COACH WANTS. trust me adelaide learned from experience with the wayne

Ayres may have declined advice from his support staff, how does that relate to Woosha?

What contracts are Waters and Butler on?

Unless WCE sign them on for long term contracts then their words mean nothing.

The standard contract for a new draftee. You guy's use a different system to the rest of the AFL?

Standard draftees at the moment, so they have a year to run on their initial 2 year contracts..

I'm just asking, I dont know every AFL rule and legislation.

Does this mean they cannot be offered a longer term contract in their first 2 years?

Only in their 1st year AFAIK. Judd re-signed in his 2nd year.

You must be able to sign a new contract after the first year, as Daniel Wells approached the club after his first year, about signing a new long term contract at the club.

Waters and Butler haven't finished their 1st year at the club yet.

Here's another scenario:

Stenglein to Fremantle (from Adelaide)
2nd round draft pick to Nth Melbourne (from Adelaide)

Justin Longmuir to North Melb (from Fremantle)

1st round draft pick to Fremantle (from Nth Melb)

Jeremy Clayton to Adelaide (from Nth Melbourne)
John Baird to Adelaide (from Nth Melbourne)

Not a great deal for Adelaide, but they have little bargaining power.

Not as though I'm expecting a deal like this to be considered, let alone discussed. Just keen on getting J Longmuir to North. :D
