The midfield will be interesing i reckon.

Judd will be the premium i buy. Next year with a pre-season and an improved side, he'll go berserk.

Kerr i reckon will be a bit of a cheapie. Nothing outstanding, but definatley something to look at. Has proven he is a nut of a SCer. And if he swaps clubs, might benefit.

Cousins and Coughlan are obvious buys, although depending on their pre-season.

That leaves four spots for rookies. Which i think will be a good strategy to use.

Can somebody give me a rough guide of midfielders who are named in Back/Forward spots? :thumbsu:

Wont touch Coughlan and Ben is no certainity to play again. Haselby maybe instead? :thumbsu:

Kerr and Judd, they are definitely worth looking at TG. Judd may be a bargain also. Kerr will probably still be at WC however, so watch for suspensions...:p

Mids who might be backs 2009? Toughie, maybe Newman, Ladson, Enright, Carrazzo (again) & Gibbs?

They do change it every year however. :thumbsu:

Richard Hadley too?

Apparantley, if Coughlan's price drops further, he'll go down to about 166,000. That is DEFINATLEY worth grabbing, and from what ive seen, hes shown a bit in the Burgers this year. As for Ben, obviously he has to get picked up first, but im pretty confident he will be, and ill slot him in.

If Gibbs is a defender, ill jump on straight away. I reckon Embley may be as well, and ill be getting him in defence too.

Judd has gone down on his average from last year i believe, so he may be cheaper. With a full pre-season, he'll go berserk. Will be first one i pick definatley lol. And Kerr will smarten up next year i think, at another club or not, he is a proven performer. :thumbsu:

I got a team using the 5252 magic number.

I still have 86,000 spare in the bank. And have allocated 100,000 to every bench player (which i havent picked yet, since the draft hasnt been done).

However, im starting Hasleby, Coughlan and what i presume to be Daniel Rich(with Trent Cotchin's starting salary because i think he'll go pick 2).

Otherwise my team looks alright.

Can I ask why you'd go with Hasleby instead of Coughlan? He's been a good SC'er in the past, and should finally be over the injuries. I have a bad feeling that Hasleby could miss bits and pieces of next season with the hamstring complaints that regularly plague ACL victims, a la Coughlan this season.

Just a gut feeling Virg.

Happy to be wrong and after all its only August!!

Will have made that many changes to my decisions and if Mark is that cheap he could indeed be a goer.

Fair call on Haselby too. :)

Couglan will be this years Nick Stevens next year except even better. He will be my 5th or 6th midfielder! :D:thumbsu:

Sure has.

Then got injured.

Will be about 480K going off the 5252 #.

Mark McVeigh ?
Bachar Houli ?
Brock McLean ?
Russell Robertson ?
Steven Salopek ?
Daniel Kerr ?

By my own maths the magic number is closer to 5364.

Yeah...I got more like 5365. Took the top and 3-4 top players from each position, and averaged it out.

Some common players expected prices

Ablett- 734 361
Bartel- 605 709
Judd- 579 688 (nice price)
Bowden- 552 595
Chad- 479 953
Shaw- 490 898
Gibbs- 488 483

Mind if I ask how you would figure out something like that? I take it the SC magic number isn't the same each year, so how does averaging out the prices of the top players help you estimate their prices?

Should be very interesting to see the prices.

I wonder who's position will change, for example will Kurt Tippett be named in ruck or forward or both?

Players that havent played much senior footy could be getting games.
Hawks fans will Mitch Thorp play many next year?

Sorry, I didn't explain the mthod fully. I took the players initial price and divided by their 2007 average...which gives rhe magic number...evident as most are between 5367 and 5362
