C: Goodes Kennedy Hannebery
HF: McGlynn White Jetta
F: Dennis-Lane Bradshaw Vez
Foll: Mumford Rohan Jack
I/C: Seaby McVeigh Reid O'Keefe

It might not be the most agreeable 22 but I think it'd put us in good stead come 2012.

From tonight

Out: Kirk, Pyke, Moore, Mattner
In: Roberts-Thomson, Seaby, Bird, Rohan

B: Tadhg Kennelly, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Nick Smith
HB: Nick Malceski, Heath Grundy, Rhyce Shaw

F: Trent Dennis-Lane, Daniel Bradshaw, Ryan O'Keefe
Foll: Shane Mumford, Jude Bolton, Kieren Jack
I/C: Mark Seaby, Craig Bird, Ted Richards, Gary Rohan

Emg: Pyke, White, Meredith

Yes, no Bolton. If he does play I'll take it as a positive. That's not 100% the team I'd like to see, but I think its very realistic (except I've indulged by dropping Moore, which will never happen).

I think one of Mattner or Richards will have to drop out, I've kept Richards in there as I think he will be fine as a 3rd tall but Mattner continues to have brain explosions. I don't rate Meredith but he is beloved by the coaching staff. Bird is also very highly rated and I see him coming straight in.

B: Smith - LRT - Bolton
HB: Kennelly - Grundy - Malceski
C: Jetta - Kennedy - McVeigh
HF: Hannebery - White - O'Keefe
F: TDL - Bradshaw - McGlynn
R: Mumford - Goodes - Jack
INT: Seaby - Bolton - Rohan - Shaw

^^^ Agreed. AG strikes again.

Shaw about 6 weeks ago was fading badly but his move to tagging quick midfielders/HF types has rejuvenated him. Was outstanding in the 1st half last night though was exposed at times when Gia went deep forward. His games the last 6 weeks have been much improved and will keep him in.

Mattner/Teddy could be the ones to drop out for Craig/LRT who are certain inclusions but it all depends on what Longmire does with the list. Who knows what he thinks is best?

Jetta had his best game for the club last night and i think Rohan will join him in the best 22 next year. Sammy Reid to push very hard for a spot at CHF.

B: Smith - LRT - Bolton
HB: Kennelly - Grundy - Malceski
C: Jetta - Kennedy - McVeigh
HF: Hannebery - Reid - O'Keefe
F: TDL - Bradshaw - McGlynn
R: Mumford - Goodes - Jack
INT: Seaby - Bolton - Bird - Shaw

Bird seems to largely be the forgotten man. Had an injury plagued year, but when fit, he's in our best 22 IMO. His clearance work will be invaluable. He and Kennedy will make a formidable clearance duo for a long time to come.

Also, get Reid into the gym, get him working on his core strength and his upper body strength, and he'll be a formidable CHF, even at 19. It may be a big call, but I reckon he'll move past White next year. White may still slot in at FF/FP, or find another position.

Im gonna put my 22 is a sightly different format that seems more relevant to the way is now played, with players rotating from the bench so heavily and the emphasis on midfielders

Defenders -
LRT, C Bolts, Grundy, Smith, Mal, Mattner, Kennelly

Mids
J Bolts, Goodes, O'Keefe, McVeigh, Jack, Kennedy, Bird, Jetta, Hammer

Rucks
Mummy, Seaby

Forwards
McGlynn, Bradshaw, TDL, White

Thats wat i reckon our best 22 looks like.
With some of the mids rotating forward as we seems to like
I think it will be a bit different if it changes to 21.5 like is expected, i think it will kill the second ruckman and make KPP who can spend some relief minutes in the ruck more valuable. Maybe White and LRT will have to do some of this next year in order to maintain the midfield run.

Senior players who are close:
Shaw
Moore
Bevan
Richards
Pyke

Young players close:
Meredith
Rohan
Reid
Johnston
Vezpremi?

seeya Moore, hello Rohan
Mattner has 2 go as well, the guy looks lost, gets run down at least twice a game!

C: Adam Goodes, Josh Kennedy, Jarrad McVeigh
HF: Ben McGlynn, Jesse White, Ryan O'Keefe
F: Trent Dennis-Lane, Daniel Bradshaw, Rhyce Shaw
Foll: Shane Mumford, Jude Bolton, Kieren Jack
I/C: Mark Seaby, Nick Smith, Lewis Jetta, Jared Moore

Emergencies - Brett Meredith, Gary Rohan, Ted Richards

Ryan O'Keefe's form is getting tiresome. Hopefully it returns to the 2009 B&F form he had.

Lewis Jetta has got to average and extra 2-3 in 2011. He's great when he gets the ball, does he get it enough?

Jesse White will presumably get better with age. He's only 22. If he kicks 30 goals in 2011, he'd be worth his spot. He kicks more goals than behinds, so he's not wasting the ball.

Rhyce Shaw was really good last night running off half back, but I think to put him as forward would be great. If Mattner is playing off, you could return him to defense and bring in Jared Moore as a permanent forward.\

Jared McVeigh to replace Brett Kirk as Captain.

After the first 6 rounds ROK was in the top 10 players in the comp and then he got ko'd in that tackle against Brisbane and that seemed to really knock him about for a few weeks. Then the groin injury ruined most of the second half of his season. So while it might be wrong to make excuses for him, I think he does have some.

Fair to say he has one or two credits in the bank, too.

Youngest Area - Midfield

Trade Options: Danyle Pearce? Other than that no one really.

I suspect Jude will play a lot less next season, and might be one of those players who finish up mid-season. He's so tough and brave, but last night was the first time I got the idea the game's getting away from him. In fact, it would not surprise me if he announced in the off-season he was finished, and I would not have even thought that 6-8 weeks ago.

He played a few wonderful games this year, but generally was not as important as previous years, as was the case with Kirk.

And Jude's also copped so many knocks, he might just decide enough's enough.

If fit, Craig Bird would be in my best 22; as for the reference to Jetta, I'm stunned anyone could doubt him after last night.

Bvean might want out after being dropped last night; or he's assured he's part of next year's plans under Horse, which might put Moore on the outer.

The suggestion that McVeigh is captaincy material is preposterous. I'm not here to bag him again, but captains lead by example, a la Kirk through his career and Goodes, who was outstanding last night, did everything he could to get the team over the line. Again, people not acknowledging that are watching a different game.

Jack, Hannebery, Kennedy and McGlynn play the sort of footy that inspires, in the mould of Bolton and Kirk. McVeigh does not.

I hope they make Goodes the one and only captain next year, I'm not a fan of sharing the captaincy.

In regards to Jude, I sort of agree that he might not be a permanent fixture next year because the end can come quickly and based on his two finals games, it might come sooner than we expect. However I think he has had a very good year and has been in our top 7-8 players, so while there will be doubts going forward, he has had a fantastic last few years and might continue that form into next year.

You hold to that after last night
Yep, has had a great year and will get better.

B: Tadhg Kennelly - Lewis R-Thomson - Craig Bolton
HB: Nick Malceski (DVC) - Heath Grundy - Nick Smith
C: Dan Hannebery - Jude Bolton - Rhyce Shaw
HF: Jarrad McVeigh - Jesse White - Adam Goodes (C)
F: Ben McGlynn - Daniel Bradshaw - Trent D-Lane
Foll: Shane Mumford - Josh Kennedy (DVC) - Kieran Jack (VC)
INT: Mike Pyke, Ryan O'Keefe, Lewis Jetta, Jarrad McVeigh
EMG: Ted Richards, Paul Bevan, Mark Seaby.

Would like to see Bird & Rohan as regulars in the side next year.

Questions hang over Jude, Braddy, Macca & ROK going into next year.

Yeh I've been getting the same feeling with Jude too. He's been playing less and less through the middle and more and more across HF. Perhaps that was just Roosy. Perhaps Longmire will think differently. But i think with JPK, Hanners and Jack getting more and more time inside, Jude unfortunately will have to see less. Add Bird to that list too.

I love Jude like a brother so I hope he goes around for another year and doesn't fade out because he just doesn't deserve to go out that way. I think he ought to be starting in the midfield every game even with the 3 mentioned above. He is still one of the best clearance/inside midfielders in the comp IMO.

Jetta with his performance last night and over the last 6 weeks has proven he is not a flash in the pan. He is a seriously talented player who can become a wonderful wingman in the mould of an Andrew Lovett/Michael Long.

And ditto regarding McVeigh and the captaincy. I just cannot see him as a captain of this club. If the 3 man captaincy is retained I sincerely hope Kieren Jack is elevated. If not, Goodes to captain with Kieren his VC.

At full fitness, Seaby is still the number 2 ruckman. Pyke is closing the gap definitely but i think that Seaby's best (Round 2) is better than Pyke's best (Round 22). I also think Seaby's average game is better than Pyke's right now. Pykey could change it over the next 12 months but if i were to pick from both at full fitness i would take Seaby, no disrespect to Pyke and his amazing improvement.
